She looks a lot like my high school calculus teacher.
Come to think of it, she would have made a great Umbridge too (and she wouldn't have to do a whole lot of acting to get the character down either!)...

She would be brilliant but i doubt that she would be "chosen" or even do it because she is more an comedienne that an actress, she is just the exact way i picture Umbridge.

I still haven't figured out how to work Sean bean into the films... but I will:evil: Great, someone who likes Sean Bean too... I just watched Stormy Monday with him... Not a very good movie but seeing him so young was great!!! I know I'm off topic... I would like to find a role for John Hannah and anthony Stewart Head too... ;D

Hum, actually, I think I don't know any of them (shame on me)... Except maybe Kneira Kneightly, I can quite well see her as Tonks... don't know why! And she seems to be an Alan fan so... ;D btw, thanks for the welcoming!

I was browsing through the HP issue of Entertainment Weekly and they had a list of who they think would fit some of the new roles in HBP. They too suggested Bob Hoskins for Slughorn and Rhys Ifans for Morfin Gaunt. Other picks include, Brian Cox for Rufus Scrimgeour, Peter O' Toole for Marvolo Gaunt, Helena Bonham Carter for Merope Gaunt, and Daniel Day-Lewis for Fenrir Greyback (Is he British?! I think I remember seeing him in Gangs of New York or something...).

Not sure if he is British as well, he must be for them to suggest him though well i would assume.

Here's a pic similar to the one in the magazine. I don't really know much about him, so I'm not sure whether or not he is good for the part.

Jo Brand is a good pick for Umbridge. And so is Micheal McShane for Slughorn! Most of the others I have not seen or even heard of.

It's a pity Dawn French has had a part as the Fat Lady otherwise I think she would have been perfect as Professor Umbridge. If Charlotte Coleman (Four Weddings and a Funeral) hadn't died in 2001, she would have made a great Tonks. She was just how I imagined Tonks to look. Photo of Charlotte.

Rhys Ifans would make a better Mundungus Fletcher! Marvolo Gaunt - Jeremy Irons? YEAH! Sorry but since he played Snape in the Comic Relief Spoof Harry Potter and the Secret Chamber Pot of Azerbaijan I have been longing for him to appear in the films.
The person I want worked in is Bill Nighy! I mean he is such a fantastic actor and he has worked with Alan Rickman a gadzillion times before so it's not as if he'd be a stranger.
Umbridge I think would be better played by Imelda Staunton... Charlotte in Sense and Sensibility!
Bob Hoskins would be great as Sluggy, I might even like the character if Bobby gets his hands on the role... or how about Richard Briers?

Bill Nightly would have been a good Lockhart i think, i can't see him being anyone in the up coming films though can you?

I was watching a film the other day with Albert Finney, and for some reason, bang,I thought of Slughorn...the man is an acting genius and he could do a great job... But I still like the idea of Bob Hoskins....I love them both...

Charlotte was the one who was married to the MP and the daughter of Mrs Jennings the silly woman who talked too much and was brilliant. The actress has also appeared in Much Ado About Nothing, Twelfth Night, and lots of other things that I can't remember at the moment! She has also played alongside Daniel Radcliffe in David Copperfield that also had Maggie Smith, and Zoe Wannamaker. This is who Imelda Staunton is, an actress worthy of the role of Umbridge I think.

Hi, Rickah here from the COS forums! Posted once or twice in one of the Snape threads there. Just wanted to put my pennies in about the casting choices. Helen McCrory is a brilliant actress, she can pull of the role of an evil woman really well. She was in a BBC drama called Charles II: The Power & the Passion, and she played a real...well, the "B"-word I think Bellatrix is a very powerful woman who enjoys that power, and McCrory definitely had an enormous air of vigour around her in this series. She's on the right in this photo: www.michaeldvd.com.au/CoverArtUnverified/11947.jpgI'd like to see Jemma Redgrave as Narcissa. I think she has that natural, almost aristocratic coolness and distance in her. She was pretty good in "I'll be there", but I didn't manage to find a pic of her in that. But here she is on the right: www.robsongreen.com/father_son/As for Tonks, I'm undecided. Whoever brought up Charlotte Coleman, yes. She would have been perfect! Too sad that she died:( I'm one of those who absolutely can't see Keira Knightley as Tonks, she's far too classically beautiful and tall. Imelda Staunton, yes, I think she could pull off Umbridge, even though I haven't really seen her in an evil role before. It'll be very interesting to see their casting choices

Eeek, this is a toughie. I would love to put some of my "pet actors" in the films one way or another. Sean Bean is lovely :0 I have LOTR in the background so those actors keep coming to mind. Another "pet actor" is Cary Elwes (Westley in The Princess Bride). Even though I like them, I can't think of any parts offhand that they would suit. I think Ian Holm would have made a good Cornelius Fudge. And Billy Boyd is so cute - with a very nice voice. Where, oh where to put them? Oh, well. I'll come back to this thread later, I think, when I don't have LOTR on

The more i think about it i think that Keira Knightly would be the best Tonks and the more i see her the more i see Tonks. I am hoping that she will be taking the role.

I agree with you on this one Winky22 I have just realised who could play young Tom Riddle in the Hepzibah Smith scene in HBP and *ducks frying pan being flung her way!* Orlando Bloom! (Yeah I like him and would actually like to see him play someone a little more deeper than he does at the moment. That is of course if Christian Coulson doesn't want to do it!)
