OH Yeah!!! just in time for Christmas a little Snowcake news! www.heweek.co.uk/?i=844&s=1111RElease date in UK set for March 2006 stolen from the guestbook at Claudia's (http://alanrickman.hypermart.net/guestbook/ar-guestbk.htm a blog report from the sister of one of the Editors!!! coolnina97.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_coolnina97_archive.htmlSnow Cake One minute I was laughing, the next close to tears, and then feeling terribly inspired to take life by the cajones. This was how I spent yesterday afternoon while watching a screening of the new film my sister is editing called Snow Cake. IMDB outlines the plot as: "A drama focused on the friendship between a high-functioning autistic woman and a man who is traumatized after a fatal car accident." It has an excellent cast: Alan Rickman as Alex, Sigourney Weaver as the unforgettable Linda, and Carrie-Anne Moss (from Matrix fame) as Maggie. This is not a film for people who demand at least three car chases and an explosion to feel really entertained. It is however a touching study of human nature and relationships, with a very uplifting message, and I have no doubt it's going to be well reviewed upon release. When I worked on Long Acre in Covent Garden I would often see my sister for lunch and she'd show me a scene and asked me if I felt it worked or not, as she poured over every minute detail. To see it all together yesterday was just wonderful, and she's done a brilliant job. And in case you think I'm being biased, I sat next to the great Jim Clark's (Vera Drake, The Mission, The Killing Fields etc) wife, Laurence, (a film editor herself instrumental in the French film movement in her day), who told me she thought my sis was a wonderful and very talented editor and was glad she had returned to work after having her daughter. I was terribly proud.

I don't think it's every 15 minutes, because I just tried to vote twice in a row and it let me.

Dang Nabit, I missed Dogma on Comedy Central. Maybe it will air again. Hopefully it will be aired in Canada too.

I'm not too angry about missing it; seeing as I caught it the last two times on the same network. I think this will be my next DVD in my collection.

That was because the series of books was started in the 1990s I think, and most of the sources have him going to school in the early 70s. So if nothing else he would be closer to 40 give or take a year, in GOH (based on a 1990s date...if you figure that Harry gets a year older each book).

I posted this in the Luna Lovegood Search thread - but thought I'd put it in the News section as well: Winky - did you see the news on Mugglenet about open auditions for Luna? Are you going? www.mugglenet.com/

Both Mugglenet and Leaky Cauldron confirm DVD release of Goblet of Fire to be March 7, 2006!!! Single disc $19.95, 2-disc set $22.95. And supposedly reported, but unseen by me, is the trailer for the DVD has an excerpt of the deleted Snape/Karkaroff Yule Ball scene!
Start the countdown to another Alan movie to add to the ol' collection!

Alan came SECOND in the Hello! Grand Finale Most Attractive Man poll with 27% of the votes! Surprisingly, first place went to Gerard Butler with 28%!!! How close our Alan came to victory!! 3rd was Sean Bean (10%), 4th Will Young (9% and 5th was Orlando Bloom (97%). To explain how Orlando was only 5th, the Hello people did say that they study the votes and detract anything not right=those Bloom-ites must have been cheating! And I guess Alan's votes mustn't have been very good either for Gerard Butler to overtake him... Full list of results is here
