^^A tornado? A TORNADO? OMG, ringo - you stay inside where it's safe and dry! Better yet - just click your heels three times and say 'there's no place like home, there's no place like home' because you are now officially in Kansas! Tornados . . . crazy!

Do you think if I click my heels, that I will get Alan instead? ?? ;D Oh yeah! He's worth a hundred pair of ruby slippers . . . and risking getting a house tossed upon one's head! Oh, I know - you can go to the wizard of oz and ask him, not for a brain or a heart or courage . . . but for an Alan Rickman. Of course, you might have to do in an old witch or two to get him . . .

When I go outside, I have to have my hoodie and my vasity jacket on. And, I'm still cold. Well, z ya. Ringo-I heard about that. I hope nobody got hurt.

Have a little catching up to do...
Des Good to 'see' you back and I hope everything's going well for you. I had a very rough patch this year as well so my thought's are really with you. Your Thanksgiving story sounds like a story from my homme, lol.
Winky That is the cutest dog evah! He should be a doggie model or something.
Ringo I'm glad both you and Alan are safe from the nasty weather. I think we're going to get him here in NY for New Year's Eve because his play is closing on Dec 30th. Woot!
Amirab Well done on your bowling endeavor, and your fine marks!
And hello! to all the ARAS lovelies.

Hey guys ... I'm back from a visit to my New Jersey relatives. Had a great time, beautiful weather, great food and wonderful company. Went to my cousin's restaurant and had a great "girl's night out" from the other side of my family ... including my 93 year old aunt. Back home to miles of paperwork to get ready to close on my new house on 12/29. Looks like everything is going to be approved and on schedule. It'll be so great to get back into a house of my own again. It's small, but cozy and just right for me. I swear, this house I'm renting (and I'm the first person to ever live in it) is haunted. Things are always falling over or falling off of counters. I think Peeves has taken up residence here. I'm taking my time to move. Want to put in new flooring (carpet or vinyl?) and paint the whole house. The new stove is on order and just waiting for my okay to deliver it. I'll be in by the end of January. Looking good!!

^^Oh, wow, Des - congratulations on your new home! That's fantastic news!! Also- welcome back! Glad you had fun in NJ, too . . . did you get some skeeball in? ;D No skeeball. Unfortunately, the place in Asbury Park I used to skeeball in is nothing but a derelict building, now. They've got the whole area closed off. The Casino was such a wonderful place. A great carousel, terror tunnel (yeah, we were really scared), an ice skating rink (in winter) and lots of other fun games ... not to mention as we got older, the cute college boys that used to work there.

Glad you are back, des!
I went to a Bob Seger Concert and I was blown away. It was so good. Kid Rock came and sang a song with Bob Seger. I stayed up to 1 am, so mom got me out of school early so I could sleep. Mom said I was probably the youngest there, but...no.

Closed on my house this morning *doesdanceofjoy*. It's so nice to own my own house again. Lots of work to do, so I'm not moving for another month, but at least I can pick my own wall colors and put up pictures.
Going to look at flooring on Tuesday and then I can decide on the paint.
Some work to do outside, too. Have to paint the trim and put down pavers on the porch. Lots of landscaping to do in the front to liven things up.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the house shape up and getting everything done.

Des - that is sooooo wonderful ! What a fantastic seasonal gift ;D! It sounds like you are going to have such a great time getting the house all fixed up....painting the walls your favorite colors and perhaps the floors(with your favorite carpet or wood) ! How nice! That is such a great story, and I'm so glad you are having a great season! It is so good to hear ;D! I can't wait to hear about it once you start your painting

Thanks Amirab and Giggin. I'm really going to enjoy this. I don't mind some "fixing-up" because then I can put my own mark on the house. [I can't wait to hear about it once you start your painting I'm going for pastel colors (not brave enough for stronger colors). I'm doing the kitchen peach, but there's a part of the wall from the great room that extends into the kitchen. It's the triangular part that starts at the cathedral ceiling and goes across the top of the cabinets. So, that's going to be cream going into the dining area. Then I can paint the rest of dining area any color that will coordinate with the cream. But before I get into painting, I think I have a few days of patching to get through and then everything needs to be primed. The house hasn't been painted in 16 years. And BTW, in my last house I tried to paint a bathroom peach and it came out burnt orange. ;D Just like the wall I tried to do lavender and it came out purple. Then there was the aqua that came out turquoise. I never used to have color problems like that. I'm just hoping it was something with the walls in that house. Otherwise this is going to be quite an adventure.
