Well, Jason Isaacs just is Lucius Malfoy!! He is absolutely delicious in that role and steals the show when he is on screen. I fear if I ever see the two of them on screen together I will just pass right out! I also love him in The Patriot, and want to rent Peter Pan when I am through with my Rickman-athon! And Christian Bale I like in Laurel Canyon, and of course in Batman Begins. Oh, and in Velvet Goldmine with Ewan...one of my favorite movies with another actor I love, Jonathan Rhys Myers. LOL, Same here, i would faint if both Alan Rickman and Jason Isaacs where on the screen together. Oh i forgot about the Partroit yesterday, i love that movie, that's probably my favorite movie with him! Yeah im planning on watching Truly,Madly,Deeply tonight or Something the Lord Made.

Er Jason Isaacs and Alan Rickman have been on screen together in Chamber of Secrets. Malfoy was there at his sons first Quidditch match and he and Snape were sitting down next to each other!

Loved the movies and loved Ewan in both. Moulin Rouge is great, I could and often do watch it over and over again. HAve you never seen any of the prequel trilogy Star Wars?? No Obi-Wan?? Love Ewan as Obi...*sigh* And yes, i forgot that Jason and Alan were on screen together there...but not for but a second and they don't talk that we see...that is more what I meant!

HAve you never seen any of the prequel trilogy Star Wars?? No Obi-Wan?? Love Ewan as Obi...*sigh* Nope, haven't seen the prequels. When Episode 1 came out, my best friend and Star Wars fanatic, said yuck, don't bother. She went to see 2 and 3 because she'd seen #1. But as my daughter said (and others said nearly the same thing) ... bad dialog, bad acting, but what the heck, it's Star Wars. One of these days, I'll trek my little self down to Blockbuster and rent all three. It'll be hard to imagine Ewan not singing and dancing.

LOL!! Whenever I see Ewan as Obi I almost expect him to start dancing...or I wish he would anyway!
I am a SW fanatic as well and I would say at least watch ROTS. I actually adore Hayden in it, though I despise Natalie Portman as Padme, hers is where the wooden acting comes in. But it is a great movie nonetheless and very sad, I mean have the tissues ready, I still need them almost a year later.

I am a SW fanatic as well and I have to say I prefer the prequels to the sequels. I prefer the love story of Anakin and Padme having been through something similar myself I can understand those two better than I can Han and Leia who just make me want to bang their heads together sometimes.
ROTS is the best one and I love how the loose ends from AOTC to ANH were cleared up in it.

I've only seen Ewan in two movies ... Down with Love and Moulin Rouge. Loved the movies and loved Ewan in both. Oh my, but he's been in so many good ones! He was in 'Black Hawk Down' - an excellent movie, btw, and also starring Jason Isaacs! (yummy!). 'Little Voice' and 'Brassed Off' are two quirky little independent films of his that I quite liked. He was also in 'Emma' ('though he's wearing an ugly wig in it! ;D ) and 'Trainspotting', of course. I loved loved loved him in 'Moulin Rouge' . . . he's got an amazing voice! My favorites change all the time . . . but here are some of my favorites now: Alan Rickman (*drool*) Ewan McGregor Johnny Depp Jimmy Stewart Russel Crowe Harrison Ford Ciaran Hinds Peter Sarsgaard Vincent D'Onofrio James Mason I go for talent over looks any day - but these guys are all exceptionally talented and easy on the eyes!

Amen to that Billywiggy. Those three Ewan McGregor movies are three of my top faves. I'vs seen Trainspotting about 10 times alone. And, wow, another Ciaran Hinds fan. I was feeling pretty lonely there. Have you ever seen Persuasion.with him? Another top fave. I also loved his acting in The Man Who Cried and The Mayor of CasterbridgeWow, you made my day! And Rainbow I absolutely adore Chow Yun Fat too! There's something about him......

Ooh, Peter Sarsrgaard...I love him. I love how diverse he can be, for instance, from Shattered Glass to Kinsey...(two movies with two of my other faves, Liam Neeson and Hayden Christensen).
And I think my favorite Ewan movie is Velvet Goldmine, followed closely by Moilin Rouge and of course SW!! But then, I even watched the special on polar bears he did and that Long Way Round series too. I would watch anything of his to hear that fabulous Scottish accent!!

Yes, I love Ciaran in 'Persuasion' - that's a wonderful movie - I love the entire feel of it! (Plus, it's my favorite Austen novel ). Haven't yet seen the others *takes notes*. Have you seen 'Jane Eyre' - he was awesome in that as well. Oh! Also - he was amazing in 'Ivanhoe'. Such a great character actor - the man has such an intense presense! I keep meaning to see 'Munich' as well, he's just another reason to see that one! And I'll add Chow Yun Fat as my number 11 - that man has grace and presence! Oh, and candescence - I really liked 'Velvet Goldmine' as well - I thought I was the only one on the planet! lol! And I only caught part of his 'trek' series on Bravo or wherever it aired - but he was amazing in that (he's a 'manimal'! lol) - such a fantastic personality to go with all that talent! Yumm! And I'm so glad you also like Peter Sarsgaard! He's another super intense actor. The tension whenever he's onscreen is palpable. He was incredibly creepy in 'Boys Don't Cry' and fantastic in 'Garden State' too.

Another Velvet Goldmine fan!!! Yay!! Now I know there are three of us on the planet...LOL! I convinced my best friend to watch it and now have her singing its praises...and I admit I watch it far too often, it is that Ewan plays that role so well, he is so needy and I just want to scoop him up... SO funny to see Christian Bale there, really before he was a big actor. And I could put a joke here about Obi-Wan and Batman...but I won't go there!
I read the book that went along with the show...Long Way Round, and it really was so interesting. I was hooked.
Ooh, I have never seen Garden State...have to rent that one now! Is Natalie Portman in that too?

We should start the 'Velvet Goldmine Fanclub' or something - lol! ;D So there's a book to go with the series? Cool - will have to check that out - I actually still want to see the entire thing. Is it available to rent, do you know? And yeah, 'Garden State' has Natalie Portman in it - she's really good in this role. The movie is very funny and quirky - my favorite line is: 'Don't mock me - I don't tease you about being an a**hole.' ;D Plus the soundtrack is quite good.

Yes, it is available to rent, I actually just sent my copy back to Netflix the other day. And I highly reccomend the book, it is in sort of journal form, one day he would write the next the other dude, Charley something...his best mate I guess. Ewan, not surprising of course, is a wonderful writer, very witty.
So yes!! A VG fan club!! LOL!! I love the soundtrack as well to that, lots of seventies-ish glam, and gotta love Ewan singing of course. Did you know that Radiohead plays the band there and in GoF?? Odd bit of trivia there for ya!

I knew about Jane Eyre but rented the Timothy Dalton version instead which, surprisingly, I didn't like that much, so I'll be renting Ciaran Hind's version next. And I didn't know he was in Ivanhoe! He is also in Excalibur with Liam Neesom and Patrick Stewart. I always pictured him as Aragorn in LOTR because Tolkien described Aragorn as rough and rugged looking, like Ciaran. Although I love Viggo as Aragorn, in my mind's eye I see Ciaran because it waould have been a greater transformation to see the half-elven graceful nobility of Aragorn Elessar revealed in a less classically handsome man.

I love Ciaran Hinds in Persuasion as well, in fact it is my second favourite Austen novel, my first is Emma, (have you seen the Gyneth Paltrow and Jeremy Northam version? I just love it and it has Sophie Thompson in it who was also in Persuasion with Ciaron Hinds. She played the hypocondriac in Persuasion and the chatty spinster in Emma!) and my third is Sense and Sensibility, (Alan Rickman is SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD in that! *sorryforthecapsgotabitexcited!*) Pride and Prejudice is a great book and I love the energy in it but I prefer the more adult story lines of the above three, as P and P reminds me a little of Mills and Boon in a way.

Yeah, I think you'll like this 'Jane Eyre' - although they skip almost her whole childhood. He is fantastic in 'Ivanhoe' - you have to watch that at once! Go now - I'll wait! But seriously - he is amazing in this role. He plays Brian de Bois-Guilbert, and you see every emotion that passes through him. Amazing talent! I'll have to put 'Excalibur' on my list now too . . . I can't believe I haven't seen it. And I love Patrick Stewart and Liam Neeson. And you know - I think you're right - he would have made a fine Aragorn!! Especially as he's a bit older, which is how I imagined him. And Hermione_Snape - yes, I've seen the Jeremy Northam version of 'Emma' . . . mentioned it a bit earlier ^^ in regards to Ewan McGregor. That's a funny and sweet version, and Gwenyth does a fine job in it. I also really liked 'Mansfield Park' - the one with Jonny Lee Miller as Edmund (yum!). It's not very close to canon, but an enjoyable flick nonetheless. ;D

That's a funny and sweet version, and Gwenyth does a fine job in it. That's the second movie I saw Jeremy Northam in and I enjoyed his performance in both. The first is about a boy that was sent down from his school for stealing and his father bankrupts the family to hire a hot-shot lawyer (Northam) to clear him. I think it was called That Winslow Boy. Not sure at all of the title. I think he'd make a great Phineas Nigellus.
