The Picture House is less than 2 hours away from me on train, and I really want to go. Seeing Alan Rickman in NY is a rare opportunity and I cannot miss it. I'm trying to convince my parents to allow me to go.

I received this info from CTBF (the charity hosting the Harry Potter premiere in November) about tickets... you don't technically get to be at the actual premiere.
I was all set to go but now I'm not so sure, depends on the price and what you get for your money:The date: Monday 17th November 2008
The location: Central London. Due to Royal security the exact location will not be disclosed until much closer to the date of the event.
The screenings: The main Premiere will take place across 2 cinemas.
Tickets for the cinema with the Royal Family, cast and crew will only be available to those who advertise in the Commemorative Brochure. Details of advertising packages will also be available on our website www.ctbf.co.uk
Tickets to the adjoining theatre will be on sale to existing CTBF members until 18th August and will go on general sale after that date. The adjoining theatre is equally part of the main Royal Film Performance and will include the full red-carpet experience with CCTV screening all red-carpet activity, Royal line-ups and on stage presentations.
There will also be tickets available for a Near Simultaneous Screening and a Late Night Screening on the same night, which will be available to purchase on-line at www.ctbf.co.uk from September 08

That would be insane if you could buy tickets for the premiere. I've done the whole getting up early in the morning thing for intimate gigs for a certain band and it is not pretty! The website imploded on itself. But yes I'm happy standing there with a snape related banner

Photos of Alan at the New York Bottle Shock premiere yesterday can be found at Getty. Sneak preview here: (I love how he knows he can't get that jacket fastened so he just buttons the top one and goes with it!)

I am not going to hyperventilate.... I need to write my recap and upload my pictures first. I had an amazing time at The Picture House today. Alan looked amazing, but I don't think that comes as a surprise to anyone here. I was right by the center aisle in the third row, so I had a really good view of him. He was really nice and sweet to his fans. I got my picture taken with him and an autograph. I used to have some intelligent statements planned in my mind to say to him, but they all flew out the moment I was standing there. I am lucky I managed to gush out, "It's an honor to meet you!" I think I looked and sounded exactly like the crazy teenage fangirl I am. After that, I stood to the side, calming down and observing his interaction with other fans. He smiled a lot and was very patient. I saw a girl taking pictures with her cell phone, which gave me the idea to get a picture of him on mine to set as a background. As he was about to walk towards the exit, I managed to get his attention, which he gave to me fully. I asked if I can take a picture of him on my phone so I can have him as my background. He smiled, I took the picture, he shook hands with some people, and as he was leaving he turned back one last time with a smile and a "bye bye."
Hopefully I'll put some pictures up by tomorrow.

Also had a wonderful time at the Picture House and found Mr. Rickman to be as wonderful in person as I had hoped for. My camera died right before the event started so all's I have a pretty poor pictres on my cell phone. Had to make due with what I had. My daughter got the autographs and alas the talk time with AR. I was proud of her because she was polite and did not overly impose herself on his time and he was talking and joking with her about her earrings (she has a lot) and about her mother who could not operate the cellphone camera. Oh well, at least I was noticed...... lol !!!

Guess the old addage, "something is better than nothin" would cover that encounter. Had imagined something a little different than that though.
