Ok folkies, just occurred to me on the way to work this morning, that it isn't long until Alan's birthday.
SO I thought perhaps we might want to mark the big 60 with some special.
I've listed a few options in the poll. Here's a bit more info:
1= just another thread specifically for birthday greetings, e.g. "whoohoo happy birthday alan! 60 but looking good!" etc
2= perhaps we can get piccies of alan, manipulate them, add text etc with birthday stuff on them>
3= same sorta theme, make a poem or song about Al and the best one in a poll wins!
4= * the tricky one. I was supposed to look into this before for giggin, apologies, I have been very slack! But I could try and figure out a live chat thing so we could have that open for instant rickmanic birthday chatting!
5= Basically just add Alan's bday to our general birthday wishes thread and chat about all things rickman as usual
Let me know whatcha think. It'll have to be a quick poll, perhaps closing date next friday, the 3rd Feb

I love all of your ideas mugglemichelle, especially the idea of the 'live chat' on his birthday. I happen to be on vacation on that day...so be sure I'll be willing to chat all day long...harray  ! (that is...if it wins the poll, of course  ! I voted for the live chat ;D! Could you guess ? |

I don't think I'm going to be near a computer on Alan's birthday!  I'm possibly going to be out of the house and on vacation during that time. |

We could try and have a live chat. but then it will have to suit all of us and or time spans and then we don't know what we will be doing on that day, it's a tricky one but we can only try.

Love the idea of a live chat.
I think the hardest part is trying to set up a time that works for a lot of people, but I'm sure we can find a way (perhaps a couple of chats that day? Who knows)...

Well I guess we could always have a chat week so then it would cover a weekend, when most people can come and chat. How inconsiderate of Alan's birthday to be on a Tuesday!
I have looked into the chat facilities and if the vote goes that way we have the capabilities ;D What I've seen seems to just be an open chat thing with no set time restrictions, you log in and if anyone is there you just say hi!

Ah, so you can create a chat room here? Interesting. And yes, we should have a world-wide holiday for Alan's birthday. A Tuesday holiday means people won't have time to travel, and will be stuck at home, available for a chat. ;D Gosh, I wonder which way the poll will end up leaning. It's neck-and-neck, now. |

Ah, so you can create a chat room here? Interesting. The chatroom is from the people who do my mini polls and ecards at my website *points cheekily at scrolling sig ;D * So I'd have to link you to it via my site, although Emmymik is looking into it if Proboards do live chat (although their name is pro boards...) |

I voted for "Try and have a live chat day on Feb 21st."
It seems that'll win. We'll have to see at what time and whatnot because I have school that day (as I'm sure others here have as well).
