Wow - I'm the first to review this one? lol! Well, I got this one off Amazon Marketplace for only .82 cents - and since, even with shipping, it was cheaper than a rental - I thought I'd bite. . . Like so many of his flicks, Alan is in this one far too little. Sigh. He has very few lines - but he makes the most of them! I love all his little smiles and winks as well - nice to see a different side of him. And I'm sooooo glad they opted to keep his original accent - whew! So nice!! The movie itself was rather formulaic, and I was surprised at the number of high-profile actors in this one, as everyone seems to be doing their darndest to overact! ;D I think this one is struggling between being a drama, being a mystery and being a comedy; they just didn't know how to mesh the pieces. But Alan is cute in his little scarf . . .

Despite all of the talent in this movie, I thought it was pretty boring. I've seen it only two times. The first time I saw it, I made it about halfway through the movie before I decided on fast-forwarding through it. And the second time I just fast-forwarded to Alan's parts.
And, as usual, Alan was awesome in it...

My DVD arrived today. I'm busy watching GQ again, so I'll be watching JM after dinner. Already I'm not happy. Alan isn't even listed on the cover.
Edit: Okay, watched the movie. I liked it. It wasn't a great movie, but it was pretty good. There were a lot of different stories going on, and the hunt for the serial killer was just the glue tying the stories together. As Kevin Kline said at the end when he caught the killer ... it doesn't matter who he is; he was nobody.
I liked Alan's look in this one. His role wasn't much, but he made a good sidekick for Kevin Kline. I won't watch this a lot, but I'll watch it more than once.

I will only watch this film if Alan doesn't turn out to be another murderer.
I find it rather funny actually that he has done a film called January Man and a film called the Winter Guest and he plays Snape who was born in January and has a chilling prescence.
Well I think its rather funny!

This is a fairly good flick if you don't mind the fact that Mostrantonio looks far older that the age the character is supposed to be and the fact that Alan could have had a lot more scenes. I love the brooding and scruffy Ed. It's worth watching just for that!

I love Ed. My favorite line: "Just languish there darling... don't molesttttt anything." *thud*
The way he pronouces that just sends shivers up my spine. I have to say that I also liked Kevin Kline in this as well. He's a great comedic actor, I have also seen him in the movie "Dave" with Sigourney Weaver.
