I thought I'd liven things up as we've experienced a little Rickmanfans low right now so I thought I'd wade in to deep water and try to make you all pick your favourite Alan movie! No pathetic "but I love them all" answers please- PICK ONE I'm going for Galaxy Quest because : 1) I ALWAYS laugh every time I watch it! 2) I LOVE the rubber head! 3) Alan shows off his excellent comic capabilities like no other film! Feel free to disagree!

ok first i am sad that PoT was not on the options list... I guess you are going for overall movie and not jus alany goodness? I guess I will base it on my most rewatched film My vote goes to Sense and Sensibiltiy... Not only do we get to see the softer side of Alan's talents he just looks so damned hot in his costume... his supporting cast are great too.

OK - I'm picking S&S, because AR looks so absolutely yummy in it . . . although, why aren't the HP movies up there? No Snape to vote for?

I picked S&S, it's my 2nd fave Alan movie (PoT is not there!) and oh, he's just sooooo incredibly wonderful in this movie *sighs*.
I think if Snape was up there, he'd win by a mile (which really wouldn't be fair to the others).

Ok ok, so my poll isn't perfect, but there's too many darn movies to choose from and the poll would be pages long if i could list them all. It gave me 8 boxes so I picked 8 It'll leave us to have another poll of the remaining movies later At least it got you all interested ;D

Well, I'm going to go with TRULY, MADLY, DEEPLY because I do love it, but also because it looked so sad up there with no votes. It's the movie I've shown to several of my friends to win them over to Rickmania. Once they've finished sobbing their eyes out, the reponse is usually "Do you have any more Rickman films?" What a silly question!

I chose Dogma because i think it is one genius film! I love Alan as the metatron. I would have chose Robin hood but it wasn't a choice because i think that defiantly the best character he as played,

Leaving for a business trip today, I have a new laptop so I can finally watch Alan while I travel! .. the only downside is I only have room for two movies in my bag.. Sense and Sensibility and PoT . good and evil and comedy too... ah, portable Alan ..

Put another down for Sense and Sensibility! It's hard to choose the runners up: Galaxy Quest, Dogma in particular.

I could have chosen 6 of those films, one I watched an hour of and was so disgusted and offended that I had to switch off and the other one I had never seen. (Dogma former. Dark Harbour latter!)
The others were a little more difficult to choose from. Four easily.
Blow Dry - I'm a sucker for the Northern Accent, (my fathers side of the family is from Northern England and my grandmother comes from Lancashire, where the film is set!)
Galaxy Quest - By Grabtha's Hammer what a Saving, (I do so much love that film as does my entire family!)
Sense and Sensibility - I saw at the cinema in the early throes of my Rickmania and love him in the old fashioned clothing.
Truly Madly Deeply - Playing a ghost called Jamie who is trying to get his living girlfriend to accept the fact that he is dead and she isn't has me in tears even thinking about it!
In the end I voted for Truly Madly Deeply because it is so heartbreaking and poignant.
Although I have to say this I went to see Pride and Prejudice up in the North only to find out that The Man himself was standing in that VERY Cinema to introduce three of his films the summer just gone, and do you want to know what three he chose to show.
Galaxy Quest, The Winter Guest, and Sense and Sensibility.
(Everyone in the audience wanted PoT!)

I chose Galaxy Quest. That movie never ceases to amuse me, no matter how many times I see it, and Alan is wonderful in it!

It was a hard decision to make, but in the end I went with Die Hard. The movie has two things that will keep me entertained: explosions and Alan. Plus the line, "You asked for a miracle and I give you the F... B... I" never fails to send shivers down my spine.

Another vote for Sense and Sensibility. Alan is just so scrummy as Colonel Brandon. I was torn between Sense and Sensibility, Love Actually or Blow Dry (that tattoo!), but I finally went for S&S.

I've chosen "Galaxy Quest", but I admit I haven't seen "Dark Harbour", "Die Hard" (I have to borrow it!!!) and "Truly Madly Deeply". The first and the third aren't available in the country I live and all of Rickman's movies I have, somebody downloaded them for me. Alan isn't known in Poland, people know him only as Snape... and some maybe as Sheriff. "Galaxy Guest" is so hilarious that I can easily say it's my favourite comedy (OK, I like "9 Months' and "Mrs Doubtfire" almost the same). Alan was outstanding there and "by Grabthar's hammer- what savings" was priceless. In fact he was priceless in the whole movie! Oh, I guess I have to go to the "Galaxy Quest" thread now...

I loved him in Galaxy Quest. LOL. He's so hilarious in that movie: "Give it up; he's British!"
"Miners, not minors!" <-- That line always makes me laugh.
