He is adorably cute in this one, isn't he? He's so young! Takes my breath away . . .

Ah he's not THAT young! He was still older than I am now when he made that! However Oh boy oh boy I can't get over those cute freckles, I don't watch this nearly enough!

Must remind everyone about this wonderful series. I watched it again a couple of weeks ago.
But I was reminded of it while watching the 1970 BBC production of The Six Wives of Henry VIII. Had to watch something more historically accurate than The Tudors currently on Showtime. How they can air this travesty, I don't know.
Anyway, Angela Pleasance (Mrs. Grantly in BC) played Catherine Howard.

You know - I have some time off soon, and I really think it's time I took another look at this. I remember really enjoying this . . . it's a slow building, enjoyable show that you really have to just sit back and settle into to fully appreciate, I think.

Besides Alan's suitably smarmy Mr. Slope, the rest of the cast is absolutely top notch. I love the relationship between Donald Pleasance and Nigel Hawthorne. Glad my reminder gave you a nudge, BW. I hope you'll enjoy BC even more the second time around.

Here I am watching this wonderful series again. I watch one episode at lunchtime AR is just brilliant, as always (redundant comment, I know).
I think I'm on the 3rd or 4th episode when Slope stops by for tea with Eleanor and Mary. The absolute insincerity of his smile, a smile that doesn't get to his eyes, is so perfectly done, that I'm in awe. AR is the bestial Slope.
Hope this post inspires some of you to revisit this series or see it for the first time if you've overlooked it.
