I saw this movie not long ago and it was really funny. LOL. The most depressed robot you've ever seen! But that made it funnier. LOL

My sister got it on dvd for christmas, so its gonna be on all the time now! I love it! When I saw it in the cinema not many people seemed to get the brit humour, me and my sis were in stitches.

I got the movie today and I popped it into my DVD player with intentions of loving every second of it. And I enjoyed the whole thing. Marvin was my favorite character of them all (of course). Best part was when he got nailed in the back of the head ("I've got a headache...headache...headache") stops working, then comes back to life with the truth ray and nails all of the big dudes. Then all of them start acting like Marvin!

I *still* haven't seen this movie. I'm too lazy to rent movies, and too cheap to buy 'em unless they're under $10...

It was funny but i wouldn't have watched it if Alan's sexy voice wasn't in it.

I agree winky22...I didn't like the movie...except for, of course, Alan's voice as Marvin the Robot ! Everytime I saw Marvin...I thought to myself...I hope he speaks now...I hope he speak now. I wasn't very interested in the movie apart from that ! Marvin was very cute !

I was ahuge fan of Marvin before Alan got his tonsils out for the voice as I first read the book about ten years ago.
I have made a solemn vow not to fall in love with any characters anymore because Alan only goes and gets the part doesn't he.
I read HHGTTG and completely adore Marvin, Alan does the voice.
I read Sense and Sensibility and fall for Colonel Brandon, Alan gets the blinkin part.
I read Harry Potter fall in love with Snape breathe a huge sigh of relief when rumour abounds that it's Tim Roth playing the part only to find out a few weeks later that Alan blinkin Rickman gets it!
So I am not going to do it anymore, a girl can only take so much!

I think the movie was okay, it had some funny parts, but the best thing about it was of course Alan’s voice! And Marvin was the funniest character, IMO.

I saw this movie on the bus, and fell asleep. It was not nearly as good as the books, and even the prospect of Alan's voice has not motivated me to rent it.

Best part was when he got nailed in the back of the head ("I've got a headache...headache...headache") stops working, then comes back to life with the truth ray and nails all of the big dudes. Then all of them start acting like Marvin! Oh yeah - this was definitely one of my favorite parts. All the Zorgon's saying 'I can't go on - I can't bear it' and being squished in that tiny van. Ah, priceless! And then 'the president' trying to 'fly' the trailer - ;D Saw this finally last night. I was sooo excited (I had loved this book way back in Jr. High or whenever it was I read it) . . . and it started out very promising - Mos Def as Ford Prefect was perfect! But even Sam Rockwell somehow fell flat. This movie definitely had it's funny and brilliant bits (Bill Nighy can always make me laugh!), but overall, I'm glad I didn't shell out the $9 to see this in the theatre. Alan as Marvin, however . . . so funny! He definitely needed more lines. ;D

Alan as Marvin, however . . . so funny! He definitely needed more lines. ;D ...Why did I know you were going to say that? LOL!!! I definitely agree ! You know...if we had our way...we would have an Alan movie that consisted of Alan, Alan and more Alan ;D! Marvin the depressed Robot is so cute ! I mean...look at that picture mugglemichelle posted up above !

I went to see this movie when it first came out in the theater, and i thought it was a great movie. I love Marvin, not only because Alan Rickman does the voice for him, but because he is so depressing. I could not stop laughing at everything he said in the film. Not one positive thing came out of his mouth.

I saw the original movie a long time ago, so I knew I wasn't going to be crazy about this one and I wasn't disappointed. Just not my cup of tea. But of course, Marvin was wonderful. I taped it and I might just keep it to fast forward to the good parts.

I preferred the movie to the original BBC series, and I have both on DVD and I watched the both. But you know what I think is so cool about the movie is it has the original Trillian AND the original Arthur Dent in it, so for me if an original is prepared to be in a remake it must be good.
My favourite line was;
'Marvin you saved our lives!'
'I know wretched isn't it!'
The day after I saw this film I had to go to hospital for a week where it helped through the long arduous hospital day. Especially as it helped me dream of Alan all week.
