I just checked on the 'Freestyle Releasing' web page. The release date for Noble Son has been delayed until September 2008. Sigh...

Wow - this trailer makes the movie look less funny, and more like a heist caper. And NOT ENOUGH ALAN! LOL ;D

Alan Rickman's character is this really pompous intellect which has just won the Nobel Prize. His wife is a noted pyschologist (I believe) and his son is finishing up his degree. The son is supposedly kidnapped so that he (AR) will have to turn over his Nobel Prize money to get him back. Basically in a nutshell. It has a lot of twists and turns and I believe a lot of surprises in store. I am really looking forward to it. It has a great cast !!!!

Oh! I understood that he won the Nobel Prize, but I didn't understand about his son. But I do now. Thanks.

After meeting Randall Miller at the Picture House event I am really looking forward to seeing Nobel Son. I am sure that the story line will be great but he has this level of quality in his framing and things that can only be appreciated when you actually see it. He is a fantastic Director.

Okay- I just finished watching this movie (rented from netflix, but I've seen it available in blockbuster also).....I thought it was quite good. It's more of a thriller than a comedy, imo, although it does have some dark humor added into the twist-and-turn thriller aspect. My only complaint is that it's one of those movies where Alan does an american accent. Not that he doesnt still sound fabulous, but I think his voice never sounds quite as delicously perfect with the US accent as opposed to his normal british- plus his american accent isnt 100%. I dont know why they didnt just make his character british? Ah well- it was still really good AND we get to see Alan's (very shapely!) legs in one scene where he's wearing boxer shorts and a t-shirt.
Anyone else seen this yet?

I have just seen the movie, it was good, with a lot of surprising turns. The story was good, nice ending. Great scene of Alan tied up only with a boxershort and shirt.
