Not that it is really important but hey... I usually got between 125 and 137 (yes, an IQ may change LOL) ;D And I still wonders why I don't earn more money with that kind of result... So, see, it doesn't really matter. But I like taking the tests, think it's funny (like the Sudoku!)

It's been a long while since I've tried any IQ things; but usually somewhere between 118-123 or something like that. ::)When I do these things, I'm usually too lazy to properly think through the mathematical questions and things like that. They usually tell me I'm good with words; tickle.com described me as an "insightful linguist". Oh, on blogthings.com quick and dirty IQ test gave me a score of 105 with: Logical intelligence: Average; Verbal: Genius (whaver - it wasn't hard ::)blush); Math: Above average (huh? I suck at math) and General Knowledge: Above Average. But what do they know? I just tend to think I make good guesses.

I have never put much stock in IQs, maybe it is because my brother, sister and I were all put into "enrichment lab" and"accelerated " programming... if a bunch of bone heads like us had high IQ's then it must not be tha big of a deal. I know way to many people with high IQ's and low EQ's, and it the EQ that gets you a job, helps you work on a team, and develope and maintain relationships... I do wonder what would have happened had we taken the college level programmng from gr3 and gr6 as they suggested, rather than continuing with regular classes, my sister who is on paper ' the dumb one" is the most financially successful, the most driven of the three of us

Um, hmm...took one of those thingies (40 questions) while at work a couple of weeks ago (while trying to do my work at the same time...yeah, lucky I didn't get busted but i was bored). I scored 129. Would have been higher but I got snagged up on those questions where I reasoned if A=B and B=C, then A=C;however, that wasn't the case since I wasn't noticing the "if some" qualifiers in there. If I'd paid more attention to the wording, I probably would have been a bit higher.
Part of me wondered what the score would have been if I hadn't rushed and snuck in and out of the test site. Still, Mensa material, I ain't.

But I put no stock in that whatsoever. My husband is much more successful than I am - he found what he loves and works hard at it.
I'm still searching - will never be satisfied. The result is that for all my innate abilities, I'll never accomplish what I should be capable of.
Work ethic is much more important in the long run than IQ.

I would love to have a job that gives me joy rather than just a paycheck and benefits (although I am VERY greatful for both of those). I don't know about you but I often feel like a "Jane of all trades, master of none." Can manage to be decent in most things but can never seem to excel in anything. Have no idea what it is...lack of initative??...being too much of a daydreamer to stay focused???...preferring to be lazy and just 'chill' when I really should stay motivated??? Or just pulled in far too many directions by far too many hobbies and interests. Too old to change now though. OH!! Actingangie...meant to tell you that Tickle described me as an insightful linguist too. ;D

I haven't had a chance to find out what my IQ is. To tell you the truth, it's probably a low number. (No...I'm not that stupid!)

I have no idea. I suppose it is low. Why? because I always see all these tasks as connected to maths in a way and I'm terrible at maths... I'm good at literature and foreign languages.

I don't know, i am a bit thick so probably very low. Hi my name is Winky and i have a IQ of 1! LOL. Well I apparently took some type of IQ test or something when I was younger because I was put into gifted in the 3rd grade. (Because of my math scores.) Anyway, online IQ tests are weird because I've gotten IQ scores in the 140s and high 120s. So one of the test MUST'VE been made wrong. Oh and I took another IQ-type of test that said I was a "genius" in math. LOL

Ooh, I was doing an IQ test just the other day, but my fall down is when I reach the maths questions. They should put the maths questiosn first while u aint bored doing the test rather than half way thru cause I only half guess at them.

Last time I was tested my IQ was 122. Hardly genius level but very respectable in my opinion. What does that mean? Nothing. I beat the socks of a MENSA member in trivial pursuit because as my late DH used to say, I have a head stuffed with useless knowledge. My daughter, on the other hand, scored a 145. The morning of the test, she asked me what my IQ was and, not wanting her to beat me, I pulled a number out of the air ... 145. Whew! She still thinks that's my IQ and I've never enlightened her.

When I was tested back in the 2nd grade, it was 147. I was pulled out of school one day a week and sent off to a special school where I learned Fine Art, Computer Programming, Cinematography, Fine Music and various other things. I knew Geometry by 5th grade. I was taking high school courses in Jr. High and taking college level courses in high school. When it was time for me to go to college, I was writing better in my english courses than the professor himself and quickly became bored with most subjects I took except for psychology...but unfortunately you cannot get a good enough job with that degree unless you go into medicine, which I have no desire to do.
So I'm stuck at a dead end terribly boring job because I was over-educated as a small child.

I hate debate. was so happy when we moved and there was no enrichment lab. could just blend into the crowd.

150, hence my name. And, squirrelywrath, you are perfectly right. Being able to problem solve doesn't get you anywhere if you can't do it with other people's input. Besides, genius minds that are too often left alone start to warp. Desraelda, that may be your IQ. It can change, rather easily. You may have been testing on a bad day. I like that you mention "useless facts". I'm, well, an egghead. So, I don't think there are such things.

I loved the arts. I have a strong love of art and music that has always been with me. I adore music, I cannot be without it for too long. I also love singing along (and my voice isn't that great, but good enough I was first soprano in my schools choir). I also love instruments and I'm teaching myself violin and bass guitar. I've wanted to play violin since I was 11 so it's been a long long obsession for me. I finally bought one on Saturday, and I've been trying to pick out some songs on it...all from my head and ear though

Years ago, I came to the conclusion never to believe too much in I.Q. tests, because it is a way of pidgeon-holing people. If anyone is curious, I dropped out of school at 15 because of peer pressure as the result of an I.Q., test. I.Q., tests did not prove anything to me except to lower my self-esteem. In 1996, I went back and recieved my High School diploma. Now I am in college, with a 4.0 GPA and working on a 2 year degree.
So, here's a piece of advice, don't believe everything about any test for I.Q.
