His life story is sad, though... I agree, the more I thought about Snape the more sad I have become. To love someone for so many years knowing they don't share those feelings for you (and are no longer alive) is incredible. I suddenly felt very sorry for him amongst feelings of pride I suppose for his dedication and bravery. Thanks, desraelda I somehow stumbled on the interview online although with my rubbish connection I could only hear the sound and not see the video feed. But hearing what she had to say was most important

ACK!!! Poor Sev... waaaaahhhh!!! I knew he was a good man, *sobs* I just knew it! *grabs tissue - HONK*
In all seriousness, and I know there is a possibility I shall have JK Rowling fans pursuing me with torches and pitchforks, but Deathly Hallows did not live up to my expectations. There were too many unnatural juxtapositions and combinations in regards to this last installment of the series, and far too many new characters brought in as well as the bringing back of nearly every character mentioned in the entire series. I found unecessary and protracted conversations, long-winded explainations, and some scenes that were just too cut and dried. I also, as a writer of fanfics, *guilty as charged* and I'm not downing fanfics in the least; believe me I love fanfics, but as we all know there is a great difference between writing a Honest-to-God novel, and fan fiction, and Deathly Hallows reminded me of so much of how fan fiction stories are presented.
J.K. Rowling is a creative genius, and I have long admired her literary style and books, but Deathly Hallows did not have the same *oomph* as the previous six installments. I was let down, and I'm not saying that because my two favorite characters bit the dust (Snape and Dobby), but I expected this book to be a Grand Finale, and for me, the storyline ended more or less with a whimper.
*ducks and hides from flying hard objects*

Sorry about the double post but there are some questions I want to see if anyone can answer. Maybe I just skipped past the answer, I don't know. Why was it important that Harry had green eyes like Lilly’s?
Since when did Ron speak snake language?
Okay here are opinions….
I didn’t like that Tonks and Lupin died and that Fred died…..that…..it was not cool….I really liked both of them but with them having a child…..and Harry looking after him
I did like that Snape is a good guy, and I did cry for a bit when he died...
The book in the middle seemed to carry on and on and on…..then the end sped it up and BOOM it was done….
The movie should be one of the best movies if they do the special effects right and try to have as much plot as possible….and if there is a lot of Snape…..that would be a brilliant movie….

Personally, I thought the book started off like too many a fan-fic (or maybe I've just read too many ROFL) Anywho. I did like that it was action packed throughout, and I thought that Ron's character had grown up a lot by the end of the book, and my favorite character hero was Neville (and Kreacher) ;D Everytime I read the chapters concerning our dear SS and his memories, I start blubbering. And, you're right!! They had better not cut those scenes short! Not only does Alan deserve screen time, but Snape does as well! I know, I know. Its called "Harry Potter", but I feel this is an important part of the story!! Oh, and I know we aren't supposed to post graphics in this thread, but it fit A friend on myspace sent it to me: "If Snape had survived...." Woot! (see links below!!) Google is your friend!! www.ultimatetoys.com.my/.../SnapeBust.htmwww.scribbulus.wordpress.com/.../snape-action-man/

Haha thanks sunshinedaydream80, can't wait for the new Ugly Betty series to start!
My friend as my DH book, I can't remember Ron being a parseltongue amirab? I'm reading all the books from the start again (up to GOF!), having too much fun! ;D

Maybe she'll address it in a encylopedia of something. sunshinedaydream80 the links don't work.

So the only word Ron knows in parseltongue is "open."

Sorry about the links They're for Snape dolls <3 Was Dolores Umbridge a Muggle-born or half pretending to be full-blooded? I mean, she made up a story about the locket being in her family...do you think that's where JK was going with that? (grr! too many loops to be the final book!!)

Interesting thought. But didn't she say she was descended from the Selwyn's? And wasn't there a Selwyn at the Ministry? Wouldn't he be able to rat her out if she was lying? On the other hand, she was so powerful at the Ministry that I don't think anyone would dare challenge her. Boy do I agree with that. JKR better get busy writing that encyclopedia. And the first thing Kingsley Shaklebolt should do as Minister of Magic is get rid of Dolores Umbridge.

I need to re-read it, just shows how much I've forgotten about the story already as I appear to have forgotten most of what people are saying! I'm currently 400 pages into Goblet of Fire and totally enjoying the 7 book- in-order experience.

Just read JKR's Bloomsbury Chat (7/30/07). When Voldie's soul was blased out of Harry, he lost his ability to speak Parseltongue. Interesting.
She also said that Ron helped George run WWW, but I'm sure she said that Ron became an auror in her Today Show interview. Well, can't expect her to keep absolutely everything straight.
Or maybe we can't expect ME to keep everything straight.

Yes, I mean Harry. I have to go back and read (or watch the tape) of JKR's Today Show interview. I'm sure she said Ron became an auror (but I could be wrong) and in Bloomsbury, she said he worked with George in WWW.

I was under the impression I read/saw somewhere (possible the interview JKR did on US TV) Ron was an auror

Oh okay. I also thought I read that Ron because an auror. Though I could not tell you where. Here it is. The Today Show interview, July 26. In the future, Harry and Ron "revolutionize the Auror Department." Let's hope Jo writes that encyclopedia and clarifies Ron's future.
