I just read about this on Drudge and am so saddened for him, his wife and children and for his family and friends. What a loss.

I heard about this. I almost cried when I heard. But I did cry when the news kept on saying it, and I thought what actually happened. I thought it was a joke. My brother read it from a forum, and the forums is always doing jokes. Then Mom put on the tv and there is was, that he died. He was an awesome person. I always wanted to meet him and just talk. I wanted to do what he did, in a sense. Just what he did with the animals. I would never go tackle croc's or anything like that. He was a role model to me.
R.I.P Steve Irwin.

I was totally shocked and could not believe that Steve Irwin would leave this world from such a freak accident. My oldest son, who is eight years old - golly. . .I had to tell him because he just loved Steve and wanted to be like him - was totally downcast and heartbroken over this.
Steve was such a role model for young people and such an inspiration to all, in his abilities and conservation efforts that it is a pity, and a loss for the world and even more so for his widow and young family. We will never have enough of the kind of people that Steve was who was much more of a guiding star than all the rock-stars and entertainers put together for the next generation that is trying to find their way and role in life. He promoted decency, honesty, and stirred the imaginations of the old and young alike and kept people on the edge of their seats just to see this gifted man at work.
He will be sorely missed by millions and the prayers of my family go out to comfort his widow and young children.

I truly loved the mans work, he will be missed by many. I could not believe he has passed, and the way he died shocked me. When I returned to school on Tuesday, that was the big discussion in all my classes. I miss the man already*frowns* R.I.P Steve Irwin

As did I amirab . I think I might have let a few tears escape my eyes, in the middle of the day when I thought no one was looking. I do know that quite a few people posted pictures to me on my myspace page, and that just made me want to cry more.

Today someone was talking about it. As you did, I let tears go.
