An anonymous forum user came up with this brill idea for a new thread (that anonymous user can always reveal him/herself if they wish ) The idea behind this thread is to share your stories, tales, jokes etc about things that have happened to you when thinking about Alan, or things you did whilst thinking of Alan, or when you were thinking of Alan you were doing [insert story here] I hope that makes sense! For example- yesterday I had to change my computer password at work, and who pops into my mind as the idea candidate for a password? ;D I also frequently come across Alan at work as his face covers the front of my reference book, so I have a little smile to myself each time I open that! I also have a larger version of my sig stuck across my folder which sits proudly on full display for the rest of the office to see

Thanks mugglemichelle . As Rickman fans, I think, far too often we get so caught up on the idea of what it is Alan is doing...and when we have exhausted the news on Alan, we do not write, because we have nowhere to write about ourselves. By all means and without a doubt, it is extremely important and wonderful that we have threads for Alan news and appreciation, so that we are always informed of his upcoming events etc... and I love these threads as much as anyone. What I thought we could use, is a place we can write about ourselves, because what happens everyday to a Rickman fan is this thought: "I was doing this random thing and guess who popped into my mind or my view (via a picture)? Alan Rickman!" Alan Rickman has just become a part of our lives (really) in certain ways. It is just the same as when you buy a new jeep (for instance). Before you owned that jeep, you never use to notice them on the road (you see?). Now that we have Alan in our lives, he just kind of pops up randomly when we aren't even looking. We just notice him now, because we want to notice him. Anyway, I am sure there are stories out there on a daily basis from people who visit this forum. This is a place where you can share your stories with everyone. If you think of something funny, or you have a fun story to tell, please share it. Even if the story is as simple as... 'I thought about Alan while taking a jog around the block today', or... 'I heard my dog bark Alan's name, I just know it'. This thread is meant to be a fun and uplifting one that will allow the fans to write about their own day while thinking about Alan Rickman. This thread is about you and your day, to hopefully make you and others feel good and have a laugh. There are a lot of wonderful people on this thread, and it would be very nice just to get to know them a little by reading and sharing some stories. So, please post your wonderful stories here and enjoy! So...Story #2 (mugglemichelle has story #1) My husband and I were out last Saturday on a cold and rainy day. We thought we would just spend the day at Jordan's Furniture Store (If you have never been to Jordan's- it is like going to Disney Land theme park - elaborate furniture settings that go on for days - IMAX theater - Restaurant - Snack Shack - Shows - the works). You can spend all day at Jordan's furniture and never see the entire store. Anyway, to get back to my story...we were in the recliner chair section and I sat down on this $3000 leather automatic recliner chair sectional, that happened to be set up in front of a HUGE entertainment center and a big screen T.V. I decided to play around with the automatic controls on my recliner chair and began reclining slowly. As I was slowly reclining, I began to notice a certain potions master staring down at me from above the entertainment center. I leaped out of the chair and went over to the wall and saw that it was the poster of 'the Chamber of Secrets' with Professor Snape all over it. It was in such perfect condition and in-cased in a glass frame. At that moment, I just forgot where I was. I wanted that poster. Then I saw the price $189.95. I could not believe it. I just thought it was the best thing in the world being able to have Alan invade my day at Jordan's furniture. The day was already very nice, but he just made my day so much nicer

Love this idea! This isn't really a story, but just a little moment - I saw a convertable similar in color (kind of a pale, minty green) to the one in the In Demand video, and I thought of that song and Alan dancing the rest of the afternoon

;DOk,1st of all,you all know that I always make sure that my feet always touch the place where he touched it in In Demand, silly I know, but that is as close as I am getting to him having been and touching something... I love the fact that I also use that petrol station... ;D But,last night I was standing in the rain, waiting for a bus, when on one of the buses there was the word Mesmer, god knows why,but I just thought of our man straight away....and whenever I hear the word "Indeed","Really",I always think of him.... ::)Er,so where did I leave my straightjacket then ;D

today I had a conversation with my next director and we were discussing the costumes for the next show I design, the look is going to have a period feel, but be an ecclectic mix of periods... when he said "this character makes me think of jane austen" I was caught in a Colonel Branden moment so now for some cross period research... Mesmer, Sense and Sensibility for work of course;) and maybe a long study of the new Perfume pics.. yes,

Here's my favorite experience...
Last Spring I was student teaching in a third grade class. I was about to start a Social Studies lesson and needed the students to open their books. I had written the page number on the board, not really making note of the page number. THen I told the students, "Turn to page 394." And then that's when I realized which page it was. I repeated myself, only this time I tried to say it in more of a Snape-like manner.
I had to laugh later, though. It wasn't very often that I got to quote one of Alan's characters while teaching...

I'm always saying to people "Never give up, never surrender" when things aren't going so well, without even thinking about it these days, its like an everyday phrase for me now Just the other day I was watching a movie and the character said "never give up" and me and my dad both exclaimed "never surrender!" at the tv I also sometimes say to myself "by grabthars hammer, what a saving" when I find a bargain too ;D Gosh, my insanity is really coming out this afternoon....

I think I'm seeing things! I was at the movie theater yesterday watching an AWESOME movie with my husband (I can't tell you which movie, because it is rated R - and that would go against my moral fiber) and I was thinking to myself "the only thing this movie is missing is Alan Rickman". He just popped into my head in the middle of the movie. Then, if that weren't enough, I think I actually saw him walk by in the background. It must have been someone who looked like him, but it was just as I was thinking that thought. What are the odds of that? Talk about going insane mugglemichelle! Anyway, I'm loving these stories/moments everyone. Keep it up. A story a day makes an Alan fan happy! Wait, that didn't rhyme did it. ;D

I think I had the worst possible day today and need a laugh. Someone tell me an Alan story . Please! . I really need one! Edit at 10:30pm: O.k. I'll tell you about my day, if someone will tell me an Alan story PLEEEAAASSSEEE!!!. I woke with a horrible tummy ache , then I went to work in my brand new slacks, and while I was climbing the stairs in the auditorium, I tripped and fell on my knee, which bled all over the place. My new slacks were torn at the knee and now they are ruined (by the way, those were really expensive slacks - AARG). Then I pinched my finger later in the day . I couldn't eat lunch because my tummy hurt ....oh me...oh my! And, because I didn't eat lunch, I had a terrible head ache. I like to think of Alan on a day like this to put myself in a happy place, so......story anyone? ;D ?

I think I had the worst possible day today and need a laugh. Someone tell me an Alan story . Please! . I really need one! What a horrible day - you poor dear! Ok - well, this isn't really a 'story' . . . but I work across from the Fox Tower, where 'Die Hard' was filmed. So - everytime I go up to the 14th floor - I think about Alan. Sigh. Sometimes I make up excuses to get up there, just so I can see the building and think about "Hans" and the 'FBI'. Hee hee. Ah well, end of lame story.

Thanks Billywiggy...and it's one of my favorite Alan films to boot . I'm feeling much better now. Knee is still swollen, but much better ;D! As I was driving home from work today, I thought about Alan and all the new pictures on Mugglenet lately of Severus Snape. It sure is making me feel much better about seeing GoF. Oh what a happy Alan day ;D!

'I was just thinking' that if Alan flew to LA on Wednesday, then he must have flown right over me that day . No wonder my eyes were blue when I was wearing green on Wednesday, because I do remember reading it somewhere that he was going to flying out that day. Maybe it was in the back of my mind! (for an explanation of the eyes, go see the - what do you look like thread) I was also thinking I am happy he is now here in America, where I live ;D! Yeah! Of course, he is still 3000 miles away . Anyway, my eyes will be a happy color until I find out he has left , then they will go gray for a while ! Ringo, can I borrow your straight jacket ? Oh...I'm so pathetic ! At least my husband thinks I am, but he still loves me just the same Heehee!

Oh - I have been thinking the same thing since Wed., only I'm wondering where in LA he is . . . . I keep thinking maybe I'll get lucky and see him on the street (yeah - not very likely) - but I do get a thrill just thinking he's in the same city as me (heck, same country!) for once . . . sigh.

You are so lucky. Having him in your city. Well...I can be somewhat happy as well because he's in the same country I'm in (but I live about 3000 miles away from where he is). I hope you find him.

Alan is in the same country as me. Good. 2500 miles away. Not Good. However, I have been to LA (where Alan is) before, well sort of, anyway. Not downtown LA, Culver City/Hollywood, five years ago. Nice trip.

All right, short story alert. Here it is:
My mom bought me a variety puzzle book tonight (I'm a little under the weather and I needed something to cheer me up), and I'm flipping through the pages. I get to this crostic puzzle, I read the second clue: "Michael Collins" actor: 2 words. From other message boards, I quickly realize that...wait...one letter short...almost...if you know what I mean. If there was another blank in the puzzle, I would have jotted down Alan's name. But, no...it wasn't his name. So I almost died in a panic.

I was thinking of Alan Rickman today while I was driving home...well actually I was thinking about posting on this site today...well actually I was really thinking "I wonder who is going to post on this website so I can read about the GoF premiere, and I was hoping it would be Mugglemichelle...then I saw that she did post and she had a terrible time . Sorry Mugglemichelle. And then I was wondering, what happened to ambereyes (random Anyway...this is going somewhere...I promise. So, I was thinking about "Alan" on my ride home today and I wasn't really sure why (oh...well...come on...you all know why ) and when I got home, low and behold, I had a package waiting for me on my doorstep ! I knew instantly what it was! It was from England "Airmail" Woohoo! I received my CD of the Essential Shakespeare Live at the RSC *jumping up and down* Am I the first to get mine? Haha ! I listened to it right away. I couldn't understand a word of it, but I was so excited anyway. It has a booklet with it that has all the words (thank goodness), so I will follow along next time. I want to memorize it . O.k. officially I'm crazy. Oh...and it has a wonderful picture of Alan just after the section with the words, in the booklet Maybe there could be a thread opened up for the Essential Shakespeare Live "As You Like It"?
