You know what part I really love? When he's telling Bethany that she's pregnant and he puts his hand on her belly. His hand is so large and beautiful (ok - I have this thing about hands!) . . . *drools*

I thoroughly enjoyed his style of humor throughout the movie. And the scene toward the end in the forest by the lake with Metatron and Bethany was another of my favorites. If they ever do a super-duper-extraordinary directors cut of this movie, there had better be more, more, more Alan as Metatron.

If you watch that scene with him and Bethany in the restaurant, where he's first telling her about the mission . . . and she asks him 'why me?' . . . look at the expression on his face, when he answers her! You can totally tell he knows something, and isn't saying it - what a great actor the man is! He is the 'God' of subtextual (is that a word?!lol) acting.

Alan was really great in this movie. I don't think they could've found a better actor for that role if they tried (and really, they needed someone with a really great voice. Who else for a role like that?). It's funny; I'd wanted to see the movie for ages, even before finding out Alan was in it (or knowing who Alan was), and then, not long after finding out he was in it, it comes on TV. Yay! Oh, and I saw tonight that this local movie theater, which shows a really wide range of movies, is showing "Dogma" this weekend. I'd so love to see it, but due to ridiculous local curfews (if I'm old enough to get into an R rated movie, I think I'm old enough to be out past midnight to see it without being picked by the cops), I'd have to bring my mom, and I really don't think she'd be too into it.

Comedy Central had this playing twice today (8:30am EST and 5:30pm EST), so I decided to check it out. I find out I'm too late for the 8:30am showing, so I had to see it at 5:30pm. Now for my review. Although I was confused about the stuff they were talking about (I'm Catholic but I don't attend church or talk about God), I thought the movie was pretty good. I couldn't have been more impressed with Alan's role in the film. That whole scene with Bethany in bed pretty much started the movie for me. WHAT AN ENTRANCE! In my eyes, the movie was three scenes long. Pretty much sums up the movie right there. You guys have got me...I'm a devoted fan now.

I notice hands and lips (the shape), now you know why I noticed Alan in the first place And of course, the voice. I just saw this movie this weekend, and loved the way he looked in it with that wavy/spikey hair. And yeah, I saw that scene with his hand on her stomach and found that to be such a sensual action on the part of the character. I also got a kick out how he couldn't drink so would sip and spit, sip and spit. And one of my favorite scenes was how gentle Metatron/he was with her after she finds out she's the last scion.

Well... Dogma is a strange movie. Everything is upside down, but that's the main sense of the movie. Actually it's not my favourite film... it could be, but I couldn't stand swearing. Don't think I'm a saint, i often swear, but that was just too much for me and that's why it isn't my favourite movie. It seems that I can't overcome too much aggression and swearing, even if I know that it isn't serious. Alan was great as Metatron, though ;D I loved every single part with him. His face expressions were hilarious and I especially adore Alan- a comic. His part was one of the most interesting in the film, I'd even say: the most interesting Alanis Morissette- God- was definitely Metatron's soft spot...

One of my favorite parts as well. Just take the current actress out of the picture and put me in her place. That would be perfect. (Am I getting to be too much for you?)

I really love Dogma and i can say it one of my fave films. I was not so keen on the swearing but when characters are created like that they would be swearing, isn't it something like character building? So i just put up with it because if the people are real thats how they would be speaking Sorry if i have confused you all i think i have confused my self!

No, no, Winky, I know what you meant... Anyway, Metatron was sweet! Metatron and Miss Sloane were the best actors in the film (especially Metatron *sigh*).
I have to confess: everytime I see Ben Affleck, I feel like puking. He's so wooden. I only hope that I didn't offend any Affleck fans, if yes... I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to *hides*
