I agree that Ben's acting is a little wooden at times. Not really the best actor.
But I don't mind, he's rather easy on the eyes (what? I can be downright shallow at times :-) ).
Not everyone can have that special combination of looks and talent like our dear Alan... :-)

Alan is handsome in a more dangerous way. Of course, comparing talents... you know who's far better in my opinion

Question for 'Dogma' DVD owners: is it worth it to pay twice as much for the special edition? I'm thinking about finally getting this DVD, but I'm doubting the special stuff has any Alan bits worth paying the extra money for. Opinions? Comments? Any help would be appreciated!

I did my research for you Billywiggy. I went ahead and watched the deleted scenes and Outtakes. He is not in any of them, except for the beginning of one, for 5 seconds . In my opinion, it is not worth it to buy it for twice the price. I hope that was helpful !

I agree with Giggin, if your are not a big Kevin Smith fan, there is not alot that is all that exciting on the extras... there are a few seconds alan in the extra footage and a few images of alan in the production stills, with Alanis and Selma Hayak....all of which are online... even this one all by his onesy www.dogma-movie.com/pics/rehearsals/rehearsals10.html

I really need to rewatch this film. I’ve only seen in once, and I don’t know what to think of it. Alan was of course great (needless to say that), but I guess I didn’t like it that much, I don’t think I would have watched it if there wasn’t Alan in it. But maybe I’ll like it more when I watch it again.

I'd forgotten just how many funny lines AR has. And I just live for the moment where he puts his hand on Bethany's abdomen. Sigh. Gonna have to get this flick . . .

I don't know if I mentioned this before, but the part where he puts his hand onto Bethany's belly is probably the best part of the entire movie. *adds sigh here* I think this is going to be the next title I get in the Alan library. (Final decision. I swear.)

Just got this movie yesterday and watched it right away. Really didn't know what to expect even though I'd read some reviews. I was laughing out loud through this movie and especially had to laugh at Metatron. It was a weird movie, but I loved it anyway.

The fist time i saw this movie i was amazed to see just how sexy Alan Rickman really looks with black hair. Besides that, he looks great in dark green and a brown coat. Whoever decided to cast Alan Rickman in this role as the voice of god, was truly smart! I love this movie and think it's really funny, and Alan Rickman adds to the humor in this film!

Alan Rickman adds to the humor in this film! He certainly does. He was a perfect Metatron. Funny isn't it, once you've seen Alan in a role, you can't imagine anyone else playing it.

One of my favorite Metatron Rants:
"Tell someone you're the Metatron and they stare at you blankly. Mention something from a Charlton Heston movie and suddenly everyone's a theology scholar, may I continue uninterrupted?"

That is so true that once you see him in a role you can not picture anyone else in it, especially as Metatron. I just got through watching Dogma again, for the umpteenth time, and it just gets better and better each time.
I love the whole bit with him standing on water, I mean, Alan does that too, right?? LOL!
