^ Yes. If there wasn't the story about young ones, the movie could be great. It's very good, but not great in my humble opinion.
Well, Alan played perfectly, just like he always does. You see, he's great as the random guy who appears not to be that random and common.

But you know - the movie does get better upon repeated viewings . . . strange how that sometimes happens. I guess it's because I can ignore the 'young love' *rolleyes* aspect of the movie, and pay closer attention to the real stuff - the Alan bits!

I think that this movie is a grower.
Personally I think the bit where he foils Bill Nighy's plan involving the carrot top is very smooth and clever. The way he takes the number out of the guys pocket and says sorry afterwards all sincerely only to have that cheeky smile as soon as the guy is not looking it's just - brilliant!

I love that scene and then when Ray realizes something is wrong and Phil is just snickering. I have to say "Hah" to myself. Phil knows all your tricks you old cheat.

Hi! My first post...
Just got finished watching Blow Dry and I was not sure what to expect. I loved it! I actually thought it was really heartwarming. And I love him in his flashy shirt with no shoes and his scissors tattoo near the end.
Loved the part where they are spying on the other hairdresser and his he says to his ex that at least she could have left him for another guy and she says that there never was another for her! *sigh* I am a sap, what can I say?

I'm going to have to check there...the movie was adorable!!!
My friend Brandy adored it too and she's not as obsessed with Mr. Rickman as I am. She's more obsessed with Jason Issacs...of course I'm quite addicted to that man as well.

Good Evening everyone. I was finally able to find a rental place that had Blow Dry. I rented it the other day and watched it last night, and I must say, I really like the movie. Alan Rickman is wonderful in the movie, love the tatoo on his left foot. And the ending when she came out with that lovely hair due and costume. Awesome!!Totally wonderful and beautiful.

Mine too cateyes. I first saw it on television and I just fell in love with the plot. It's just great and I was on the phone to Bloomsbury once (I cheekily asked for some posters!) and we were talking for like half an hour on this one film. Doing almost a fan commentary on it. We both loved the tatoo reveal at the end. She was a bit of a rickmaniac to!
I got mine from my local supermarket for £4.99 BARGAIN! I absolutely adore this film, though I think it rather sad because you know that his ex wife is going to die shortly after and that gives the whole film that edge!
I thought Josh Hartnett was brilliant, for an american to perfect the yorkshire accent like that was brilliant, and proves his worth as an actor.

Oh that tatoo is wonderful.....but I just could not believe he had it on the bottom of his foot, weird place for it.Oh I hope I can find this movie somewhere,I really want to own this lovely movie. I agree, it is a bit sad, knowing she will die soon, I mean, did you see the look on his face when she first told him about the cancer? He looked so sad, it made me cry.

What a great movie this was, and really I did not expect it to be at all. I just loved it to pieces...and I loved how flashy he was at the end when he showed the tattoo on his foot.
It was sad to know she was going to die and I really thought that the two actresses did a great job as well...to see the proud look on NR's face when she saw her love up there on that stage brought tears to my eyes as well.

I watched the movie for the first time today. I love it! I found the Yorkshire accents really cool, for some weird reason.
The whole Bill Nighy/Alan interaction was incredibly funny, spoiling the perfectly laid plans of cheating...but then again, I love both actors--they do comedy so well. The look on Bill's face when Alan starts shaving his model's hair... ;D
This is definitely on my watch often list!

I watched it again just a couple of days ago. There are so many wonderful scenes. The bathtub scene where Phil throws aside all his animosity toward Sandra in order to make things up to Shelly ... the scene where Phil is finally talking to Brian about what happened 10 years ago and Brian lets him know that it's no longer important by offering to make toast. That's just a couple of them. I really, really, like this movie.
