Thanks for the links IE! the reviews posted at IMDB are not that favorable, and even from the brief clip you can see lots of changes from the book

Hey - I tried to translate that clip for everyone. But perhaps gela can help out a bit with the rough spots! In 1800, in France, lived a man who ranked as one of the most brilliant, and at the same time, most notorious figures of this era. His genius and his whole intellect was restricted to the transient realm of smell. His name was Jean-Baptiste Grenouille. “What is that?” “I’m creating a pefume.” “Each perfume carries three chords within it. That means it’s comprised of a total of twelves notes. But a truly unique perfume can only be created when one adds a special note to it.” “Last night I dreamed (someone) is dead. Murdered, like all the other girls. What ever else goes on in that sick mind of his, he will not - (?)” “Jean-Baptiste GRENOUILLE!” “The Holy Roman Church will punish this murderer, this demon, with ex-communication!” “All other usual – (?) – (?) – (?) banned!” (have NO idea what this sentence is - lol) “The essence of the soul is scent”

Well, I take the translation that is here, and write the rest ( me and my English - that becomes really funny .... I will exactly write, what is said in German - may be, that it is said in other words in English, I can only give you the exact sense of the German synchronisation .. ) In 1800, in France, lived a man who ranked as one of the most brilliant, and at the same time, most notorious figures of this era. His genius and his whole intellect was restricted to the transient realm of smell. His name was Jean-Baptiste Grenouille. “What is that?” “I’m creating a pefume.” ( I compose a perfume - (he really means it in the sense of "composing musik... ) ) “Each perfume carries three chords within it. That means it’s comprised of a total of twelves notes. But a truly unique perfume can only be created (composed) when one adds a special note to it.” “Last night I dreamed (someone) is dead. "( Last night I dreamed, you are dead. )"Murdered, like all the other girls. What ever else goes on in that sick mind of his, he will not - (?)” " ( he will not rest till he also has ( killed) you!)"(he does not say the word kill..) “Jean-Baptiste GRENOUILLE!” “The Holy Roman Church will punish this murderer, this demon, with ex-communication!” “All other usual – (?) – (?) – (?) banned!” (have NO idea what this sentence is - lol) "The hangmen (executioners) are strictly forbidden to do all other usual acts of grace!"(or more complicate but so in German: All other usual acts of grace are stricktly forbidden do to by the hangmen!)“The essence of the soul is scent” "The essence of all beings is the scent"Hope, I could help you a little bit ... and I want to say: the translation of billywiggy is so wonderfull, I would not have succed in, doing it this way oh - to mention it: if you have heard the German trailer, now you know, how I always have to suffer with the synchronisation of AR's voice ... I want and will see this movie and also "snowcake" , but I will suffer, I know it already ...

Thanks for the karma point, RL And you get a karma point for helping me out, gela! ;D So - does the same actor always 'voice' Alan in his movies? The voice is nothing like Alan's real voice (you poor darling!).

thank you very much for the points billywiggy - no, it is not always the same voice, seems, that the Germans don't find a voice, that they would like to give him for all his movies as they do it with the vioces of Tom Hanks or Michael Douglas. The best voice was in "Judas Kiss" - and then "Sense and Sensibility", but in some movies there were also terrible voices to hear. On Saturday "Dogma" will be shown in TV - I still have not seen this movie, and I am really anxious to hear the voice

Oh Gela, I hope they do not substitue another voice and you get to hear the real thing - it's like velvet and satin together at the same time!!!! Oh my. . . . *FAINTS*

more reviews are coming in, these ones are at Ain't It Cool News www.aint-it-cool-news.com/display.cgi?id=23358the first is spoiler free, the second gives it all away only mention of Alan Alan Rickman as the suspecting papa of Laure is good enough. As Rickman does with his Snape role, he seems to just play the piano in the dark, hitting most of the right notes as he goes along. There just isn't enough of him to warrant anything else.

has someone of you a manual to make a bomb? I have phoned with Constantin Film - we will have three cities - München, Köln, Berlin - where the Premiere will take place - and the four main-actors are invited and as to the actual information they have agreed to come. So I tried to activate contacts to get an billet for the movie - but only prominent persons and journalists are invited, no chance zu conquer a billet, heaven, the cinema has more than 500 places - why can't they let in some "normal" persons? I really would have gone to München, only to catch AR for an autograph in my book "Das Parfum" - but the Germans sometimes are so terribly unhelpful- I am ashame .... If I would find a prominent person, that I could accompaign ... at the moment, I am still phoning to several persons, who know someone, that knows someone, that knows someone...... I really can be "stiff-necked" (hope, it is the right expression .. ) when I try to get something - but in this case .... München is full of prominents - better for München, to let me see the movie (and AR ), than to get a bomb ... ;D and - for the prominets, there is planned an "after-movie-party" also with all actors ... So, how to come in? has someone an idea?

Is it just me, or do his eyes seem darker in this pic? Is he wearing dark contact lenses again (a la Snape) for this role, does anyone know?
