sorry, could not be here for a long time, but now a new information, ok- perhaps not really interesting for the most of you: I have just phoned with Constantin Film - the "first premiere" of the movie is next week, in Munich : 07.09.2006 - and only at this date and town, all actors will be there, incl. a "after show party" AR will be there, the "Red Carpet" begins at 19.00 o'clock. And the rest as before: no billets for the "normal" audience. I have a slight chance to come in - in Munich, but I really don't believe, that I have such luck. So, on the 14. Sept. when the movie starts in all cinemas in Germany, I will be there A "making off" will be shown in the German television, in the week, when the movie will be released. If I can see and record it, I'll put it online for you - if the "velvet voice" is shown So long, have a good time, at the moment, I can't come very often any more, but I am thinking of you - bye ...

I have found a link, where you can find a lot of information about the making of .... and the teasers ... Unfortunately it is all in German. But there are two things about Alan Rickman. The first, that Tywker and Eichinger wanted Rickman from the first beginning, they didn't ask another actor. I have not translated it, I think, this one sentence is ok .. The second : well - I give you the link, where you find the German text (you must scroll down a little bit). - and here my translation. Please excuse my mistakes, that I have made, some words I even could not find in my dictionary - but I have translated all as well as I could . The text was quite difficult for me, but you will have the full sense, even if I have used some "curious" words - so enjoy www.cinefacts.de/kino/db/filmdetails.php?id=18443&ab=8Third main actor in this alliance is the British actor Alan Rickman in the role of the sly merchant Richis, who is worried about his daughter Laure. His young collegue Wishaw first of all loves his (Rickman's) "unbelievable voice". "Rickman can play a scene at the same time very stringential and etherealy, whereby he is very stratified and with him you must always be aware of, that ,under his surface, a lot of other things occur."
Rickman himself has never read the novel, for him, this book is a kind of unknown icon, that million of people know. So during the shooting it counted more for him that at first a movie is the exclusive medium of the director and second it is important for an actor to work with a "really good" director. With Tom Tywker that was the case. "I am a great admirer of Tom's works. His oevre his such unique, that - with all this artificial stringency - one could think to meet a kind of humourless dictator. Certainly, Tom is exceedingly single-minded in his work, but at the same time he is the most charmed, open-minded and selfless person, that I know. So, the atmosphere at the set was one great pleasure", says Rickman looking back.
This exceptional actor, who is known to the younger spectators especially by his popular impersonation of the mysterious teacher of magic Severus Snape in the "Harry Potter"-blockbusters, has, of course, also built up his honest opinion about producer Bernd Eichinger. "It is very seldom to meet a producer, who is at the same time such passionated, helpful, well-read and eccentric when going to work - he is a splendid producer."
Tom Tywker himself was convinced about this professional "double-bottom" way of his Richis-performer. (I could not find a better expression of "double-bottom" for the German word "Doppelbödigkeit", what means, that he plays two different points of view or feeling at the same time - like, perhaps Snape: On one side Snape the man, who seems to be partisan of Voldemort, the bad monster, that wants to kill Potter, and on the other side Snape the man, who always tries to save Potter's life. Sorry, can't explain it better ) "We needed the best (maximum) opposite for Grenouille: The actor had not only to play a simple father, but he had also to be an absolut grave challenger for this ingenious Grenouille. Even if the sprectator at the beginning means, that Grenouille seems to become more and more invincible, so at the same time Richis is developped to a man of whom you think " He really could do for ( hunt down) Grenouille."
Rickman sketches his film character, the Grass merchant Richis, in few sentences: "Richis definates his person only through his gigantic love to his daughter. His words 'You are all, that remains to me' are significant for someone, who must live without his beloved deceased wife. The complete story of this character treats of someone, who makes desperate efforts to protect his child against an unknown danger, that can lurk everywhere: in the trees, the bushes, the side-streets, the dark corners and directly at all places, where the humans are at home."
Therefore Rickman was appealed first of all by the opposite of the resplendent, luxurious and clean upperworld, where Richis and his daughter are living and the underworld, that rankles in the shadow of the aristocrates' noble wigs.
Rickman explains:" Perfums and pleasant odours influence the whole novel and also the movie, in a pleasant but also in a terrible way."And now, for the rest of the day: certainly no English anymore ;D ;D but if you have corrections for me, please make them and sign them in "red" - as I really want to learn a more correct English - thank you

in Germany the release is on 14th sept. But in some cities we have "pre-pemieres" on 13th sept. and so has Heidelberg, too. So tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock in the evening our time, I am sitting in a cinema to see "HIM" (and the movie, of course ;D) And also tomorrow, late at night, two tv-stations show a short "making of" , only 15 minutes, but if there is something with Alan Rickman, I'll put it online. Now I am waiting, that it is 24 hours later ..... ;D

well, I've seen it. And I must say, I don't like it very much Ok, the actors are good and some pictures are really great, but this movie is made for people, who have not read the novel. There is a speaker, who explains over 3/4 of the movie, what Grenouille may think, and what he wants to do etc. It is boring and nerve-racking --- for me! But I have spoken with some people, and they like the movie very, very much, so perhaps I did await too much.... And here a little statement - this is all, I can offer you, they didn't bring more in the "making of..." - unfortunately with a German speaker, but I think, you can understand what AR says www.lenssen-und-partner-fanpage.de/ava/parfum1.wmv

also movie has a myspace page- www.myspace.com/perfume it says there are images by you must be signed in, anyone with a page that can say if there are new pics? There's around 12 pics on there, only 1 of Alan, I'd seen it before so guessing others have to; where he's holding the girl with the red hair and has a distressed look on his face
