He will be the most fashionable man there if he he is wearing your scarf Michelle. Just curious wil you be getting him anything this year for his 60th? Oh my god he does not seem that old at all and he definatly doesn't look it. Whilst his assistant acknowledged my letter regarding the GOF premiere in a couple of days, I never heard a thing about the scarf so I'm not going to bother for Alan's 60th. He'll probably get soooooo much mail he'll be overwhelmed. When I get my buttski into gear, I am going to add my message to a 60th Birthday Book two ladies called Anca and Niki are organising (I don't think they lurk here....?). Anyone interested in the project, let me know

I've just tried it but it wouldn't work for me either, only this info on the RADA website and the link didn't work. www.rada.org/sonnets/Do you have the CD? I got it for a present from someone. I have barely listened to it, I find it quite strange, one of those things you'd have to sit and listen to the words, not a background CD! Plus the person I got it from scared me which kinda puts me off, even though I know Alan is on (although I admit I have listened to Alan several times ) ah, tanks for that Michelle, was just trying to figure out if it iw worth putting on my christmas list (I had only listened to the Alan bit) and while I have you here... yes tell us more about the birthday project

Well Anca and Niki are organising a sort of scrap book of greetings, poems, stories etc that people send to them for Alan's 60th. Its kinda like the card I made for his 59th which was a bunch guestbook entries but this is going to be a bound like a proper book. Anca and Niki have been in touch with Al's PA about giving it to him person (*stamps feet in jealousy* ) but they are waiting to hear if it can happen. If you want more info or would like to leave a message/poem/letter of appreciation you can email them at alansbirthday at hotmail dot com (had to do that, don't want them getting spammed!) Or you can ask me and I'll forward your questions *steps down from soap box*

Wasn't quite sure where to stick this post, so here goes!I thought we might enjoy reading this fantastic review of Snape at a new online encyclopedia I was pointed towards. It gives a very details description of bio, his role in the books, his loyalty (or perhaps lack of it....) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Severus_SnapeI didn't know Sevvy's birthday was January 9th and that next year he'll be 47?! And the Harry bio puts him at 26 next year.; his parents being only 20 when he was born. They also have a nice bio of Alan too: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Rickman

I spent months putting off writing a message, and yes, I pretty much went for the cliché but I felt like I should at least say it and be part of it. The Hans action figure is so funny! ;D I have the Potions Class action figure set with a very cool Snape, it does look like Alan, they have captured the nose great

Heehee...the action figure looks so funny!!! Does the second one have bloody tears? I'm cracking up!!!
I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one that has butterflies about writing something to Alan. I don't think I can manage it really! Maybe one day he'll just stroll over to this thread and he'll read "Happy Birthday Alan" Yeah!!!! I said it! Except I'll say it again on his birthday, and maybe he'll stroll over here again and he'll read it. Heehee!

I'm so glad someone has the courage to let Alan read their good thoughts, I think its that boldness that makes it a real sentiment and not a cliche. when I write it I hear my akwardness, and it just sounds empty. " you alan, me like. birthday good" I wouldn't have the guts to sign my real name either I wonder how he would react to a random b-day greeting signed squirrelywrath? he'd porbably be worried the loonies were coming out of the woodwork

is said book thingy still happening? As far as I know it is. Haven't heard if they are going to London to deliver it personally yet. They have to wait until after Christmas. I think its over 90 people have added their messages to the book- I wonder how many others are too shy or nervous to add anything? btw occy Loving your sig! ;D

Hey come on you guys he's only human! When I first time I wrote to alan at his home I had a terrible time putting something together, re-wrote it so many times. Then he wrote back to me at home and everything fell in place. Now I send a Christmas card and letter, plus a birthday card every year. Just think of him as an everyday friend and not some unapproachable sex god, he would hate that. Then the words come easy. He doesn't have a computer at home, or surfs the net reading the forums, but I know he would really appreciate the card from you all and be quite touched by your kindness.

From my POV I dont write because I do not want to intrude on peoples lives...I feel that they are deserving of their privacy.
Im not saying that anyone who writes to anyone is bad or wrong or intrusive, I just feel that I would be

Ambereyes (in Mrs. Weasleys screachy voice...like in the Chamber of Secrets) "Where have you been"? ;D!!!! You are so lucky to know where he lives. Thats not the same really. I guess we know what to get him for his birthday...we need to chip in and get him a computer (perhaps a laptop...to take with him on his trips around the world while filming )...then have it hooked up to the internet, and then make sure his favorites are set to the ARAS site ;D Of course ! Ya...what ever! It'll never happen ! It's a happy thought though ;D!
