I was thinking of Alan today when I was at work, listening to my mp3 player. One of the new songs from Bon Jovi came on, "The Last Man Standing," and I immediately starting thinking of the movies that I could make a music video for it! If you have their new album, its on there. For those who don't, I found the lyrics online! (Hope its ok to post them)
Last Man Standing performed by Bon Jovi
Come see a living, breathing spectacle Only seen right here It's your last chance in this lifetime The line forms at the rear You won't believe your eyes Your eyes will not believe youre ears Get your money out, get ready Step right up, yeah you, come here
You ain't seen nothing like him He´s the last one of the breed You better hold on to your honey Honeys, don't forget to breathe Enter at your own risk, mister It might change the way you think There's no dancers, there's no diamonds No this boy he don't lip-synch
Chorus:
Here's the last man standing Step right up, he's the real thing The last chance of a lifetime Come and see, hear, feel ... the real thing
See those real live calloused fingers Wrapped around those guitar strings Kiss the lips where hurt has lingered It breaks the heart to hear him sing These songs were more than music They were pictures from the soul So keep your pseudo-punk, hip-hop, pop-rock junk And your digital downloads
Chorus
Take your seats now, folks. It's showtime Hey, Patrick - hit the lights There's something in the air There's magic in the night Now here's the band, they really play I'll count the first one in I don't know where it's going We all know where it's been
Chorus
The last man standing Step right up, he's the real thing The last chance of a lifetime

Two days in a row I was watching Midsomer Murders and one of the characters was named Dawlish. So of course, I thought of HP and then Snape. Then today, I was reading a book and one of the characters was named Grantly-Patterson = Dr. Grantly = Barchester Chronicles = The Bestial Slope.

I was thinking about Alan today when I was in the gym. There was an advert for a tanning salon, and it said "get that Alanya tan!" Alanya is a popular vacation place on the south coast of Turkey (I have been there several times btw) And Alanya is very similar to Alan. ;D

Twice again in the last couple of days. I'm on a roll here.
Watching The Bishop's Wife (David Niven, Cary Grant, Loretta Young). CG is an angel sent to Earth to help DN, but his wife falls for CG instead. DN's old friend tells DN to fight for her; he's got something CG doesn't have; he's a man. Immediately thought of Metatron and his lack of equipment.
Then I was reading a book that mentioned a mansion in Wiltshire, which made me think of Lucius Malfoy who owns a mansion in Wiltshire, and his best friend, Severus Snape.

Wiltshire - I am watching Bill Oddies SpringWatch at the moment and all week they have had at least ONE person from Wiltshire on it, which makes me think of Lucius and then I think of Snape, and then I start thinking of Alan and then I go to bed and have gorgeous dreams!

Saw a bus today, which was showing the street name destinations, changing on the header. When it changed to Mesmer I immediately thought of Alan in his lovely velvety brown coat and flowing hair . . . sigh. Not a bad way to start the day, eh? ;D

One of the drivers of the bus came from West London, isn't that in the same vicinity that Alan was born? Cause it made me think of Alan I can tell you!
As did when I saw some stuffed snakes and the company I saw the name, it was Slitherbee... not kidding... that made me think of Alan as well.

I was watching Law and Order yesterday and thought I recognized the defense attorney. Took me a minute to figure out he was Quellek. By Grabthar's Hammer, by the Sons of Warvan, you shall be avenged.

... turning on the radio... This morning was an Alanian morning - I do not turn on the radio very often, but this morning, I did - and the first word, that I heard was a German word, well - I know, I know, that is not so rare in Germany that you hear a German word in the German radio ... but the word was "Glockenspiel" ;D - and yes: Alan said this word! And all other instruments, too. They played "The Bell" by Mike Oldfield Wooooow - what a great beginning of this day ....

I didn't even start out to have Alan on my mind today. I had an appointment with the Workforce Center and I expected to have to stay there for quite some time, so I sent hubby and the kids to go see a movie. As it turned out, I got done about 35 minutes after I arrived and I decided to tinker around the shopping center. I did some buying, then went from store to store to try to see what else I could possibly spend money on. Well I found this great beauty supply shop and as I was browsing through there, I saw they had summer sandles for sale. I looked - I looked again and could not believe my eyes.
The tags on the sandles said, "Designed for you, by Hans!" After that, I had Alan on the brain the rest of the day. . . Hmmmm, maybe Hans didn't die after all - he survived and decided to try his hand at designer fashion! Lol! ;D
