Well, I watched with the commentary of Emma Thompson and I liked the: "quite a dish" and "Not that it is necessary with Alan, he could be mysterious as the milkman" ;D

[glow=red,2,300] I believe that everyone deserves to have a Colonel Brandon in their lives. Someone who will look at you as if you were the most beautiful thing in the world. Someone who will have unconditional love for you and will carry you through the rain and mud. Someone who will read you poetry on a lovely day out in the beautiful countryside[/glow]... *sigh* I adore this movie... What a beautiful thing to say. Yes, yes, yes !!!

Ah, my favourite Alan Rickman film. ;D I can watch Sense and Sensibility over and over again. Alan certainly does a pair of boots justice! How could Marianne have preferred Willoughby over Colonel Brandon? Silly girl!

This is the film that introduced Alan to me. I was enchanted by Colonel Brandon and wanted to see more by this actor. I never thought of looking online (I don't think I even had internet at home back then), so I went to a video store and looked for films where he'd be. The only one I found was "An Awfully Big Adventure", which I ended up hating with a passion ;D Anyway, Colonel Brandon goes on, and I frequently find myself returning to this film. It's peaceful, beautiful, wonderful. A visual dish

Yep, the manly boots, and the complicated costume. And the hat. I love a man in a hat. This is one of my fave Rickman movies too. Only Himself could pull it off so... elegantly, dynamically, (dare I say it?) sexily. There are far too few sincere gentlemen nowadays, and it's fun to see this movie and go back in time and see that way of life. And, the hair and sideburns

Sense and Sensibility is my all time favourite Alan film. I just love him as Colonel Brandon *swoon*. Alan plays all of his roles perfectly and I much prefer him in his gentler mode. Again he looks wonderful in his period costume. Have you all read Emma Thompsons, Sense and Sensibility: The Diaries? It is very good. I am a big admirer of Emma too, a great actress.

I re watched this again.. *sigh*... I love this movie, I wonder if some of the appeal of Brandon lies in the fact that the age difference between Alan and Kate is the same as me and Alan? this is definately the most re-watched of all my Alan movies, the wardrobe, the character, perfect casting

I watched this one last night . Has anyone else noticed how soft his hair looks as it blows in the wind? Just an observation . He looks so innocent and charming in late 18th, early 19th century clothing ! His acting is absolutely brilliant in this. I couldn't take my eyes off of him because every move he made just drew me in. Oh...quit laughing....really! It's true...he is outstanding with every jester he made, every step he made, every look he made. Perfection is the word for it. On top of that...every word he spoke was perfectly placed and need I say more? Goodness gracious me! He is perfection when it comes to acting!

"Sense and Sensibility" was the first film with Alan I watched. I noticed him because his acting was kinda... economical (I'm sure I haven't used the proper English word, but you know what I mean). Brandon was a total introvert and there's one word that suits him the most: gentle.
You may be jealous but my husband has almost the same character like Colonel Brandon. He's gentle. I feel like I've won a lottery! He's even tall and slim like him, with a thin face!

Perfect! I just watched this the other day and again was teary. *sigh* How people lived back then - I would have exploded with all sorts of repressed emotions - and I don't think I could have restrained myself from flinging myself into Col. Brandon's arms... I love the fact that he is so very versatile - going from romantic hero to comedy to being a villain to the enigmatic Snape and back again. *applause*
