i HAVE always loved Tim aLLEN. fOR HIS funny ways. Loved Home Improvement and Tim never failed to get me in stitches with his one line comments. Really funny person. Liked that part in GQ when the aliens come to his house (looking in through the glass door ) . He opens the door and after some time asks the aliens to help him search for his pants. He bends down and they end up looking at his posterior.(And looking everywhere else because they didnt know where to look ! That was so hilarious. ! ;D Now............if only that role was Alan's (hee hee ;D) From http://www.funtigo.com: nICE , nice posterior. Nice everything.

I've been down with a bad cold most of the week so far, and I watched this again, and it made me a little happier, gave me a good honest grin at least. Oh, the long-suffering Alexander Dane (....there were five curtain calls.... and the "what?!" when Guy is standing by his shoulder grinning like a fool... so many good moments in this movie!

Hope your feeling better.
I am going to have to watch this one again. I was in a cinema recently where he stood in all his Alaness and chose three of his films to watch and this was one of them so he must have enjoyed making it, by Grabtha's hammer what a man!

This movie is simply: I have no words for that. It's my favourite film with Alan including HP and Rasputin. He's simply priceless here (but I have to admit honestly that the rest of cast is great too). My favourite scenes are: 1.This one with Alan having to say about savings. he's so hilarious! You can see a pain in his face (when he has to say his hated "by Grabthar's hammer"), his mouth open and closed as if he was hesitating... oh, such a pain of existence! hehe! 2. When Alan suggests Taggart to find out about the Rock Monster's motivations. 3. When Alan talks about himself as a theatre actor. 4.When he signs authographs, again this painful look 5. "By Grabthar's hammer, Quellek! You shall be avenged". 6. Alan doing a kind of boxing, hunting somebody. The list could go and go... This movie is absurd and simply great. Alan is excellent as a comic and I often think that it's even more harder to play something comic than... maybe not tragic, but maybe somebody random.

Speaking of this movie...a fairly local and huge book store (where they sell closeouts and overstocks) was dumping their GalaxyQuest kids books for $.49. True it was for kids but it did have a few AR photos in it as Dr. Lazarus so I got 2 of them just for the sheer joy of it. And yes, I loved that Tim Allen scene where he is bent over and the aliens are looking yet not looking. Guy (Sam Stockwell???) was funny but I liked him better as Zaphod Beeblebrox (spelling?) in Hitchhiker's Guide. My favorite Lazarus scene was when he is holding Quellek after Quellek got shot...the whole scene. And I liked the fight scene (mock battle) between Taggart and Lazarus.

I love the above scene too especially when Alex calls Taggart a "raving egomaniac!"
But I do love it when he tells Quellick that he shall be avenged and the way he say's that line then, means that right that moment it wasn't a stupid line and it just.... I'm crying now!

One of my co-workers was looking for a good, funny movie. Of course I recommended this one. I told her she'd love it, and said, "It's a spoofy, hilarious, excellent movie"
She loved it. (I knew she would)
I think my favorite part is "Alex's panic attack/breakdown" at the beginning. Priceless!

I think my favorite part is "Alex's panic attack/breakdown" at the beginning. Priceless! One of my friends is in town visiting this weekend - and she wanted to watch one of my Alan movies tonight (hey - she's got good taste!) . . . and she picked this one. This movie is just so amazingly funny! She laughed all the way through - warmed my Alan-filled heart. And I agree, cissy, the beginning, where he's panicking, is so perfect - 'there's nothing you can say to make me go out there' 'the show must go on' . . . the look on his face - priceless!

I also like the scene at the beginning when he is complaining and that he played Richard the 3rd? I love Alan so much in this film. I too liked this film on so many levels. Right from the start I just knew it wasn't going to disappoint. Alan was the icing the film

Just got this movie. I'm slowly building up my Alan collection.
What fun!!! Tim Allen, Tony Shaloub, even Sigourney Weaver ... wonderful. And of course ... Alan Rickman as Alexander Dane starring as Dr. Lazarus. What a perfect role for him. He does sarcasm so well ... think Metatron.
I've only seen it once so far, but as I watch it again (and again), I'm sure I'll have many favorite lines such as ... I see you've managed to get your shirt off.

By Grabthar's Hammer... what a savings! When Dr. L. finally says that line willingly as Quellek is dying, I had to sniffle a bit.

By Grabthar's Hammer... what a savings! My God, I adore this bit when they're staying in front of the supermarket. Alan has such a painful look there! It's priceless. Mr Rickman, a bow to you, it's one of the best comedy bits I've seen in my life! I have to watch it again. I watched half of it a few days ago and I'll continue soon! ;D

This is honestly one of my favorite movies. I think it's because it's so silly. And Alan definately has the best lines in it hands down!
Like when he's eating the bug soup (I can't think of anything else it could be) and he says "Just like mother used to make" and then he rolls his eyes! LOL
And the Grabthar's Hammer bits...LOL

My friends and I watched this movie tonight. We were rolling the entire time. Everyone agreed that Alan had the best lines.

The movie was silly indeed but in fact it was well-thought. There won't be something more twisted than to take actors to the space and make them fight aliens with their knowledge from the movies! ;D
Btw the bug soup was just perfect! ;D And Alexander jealous of the Commandor ;D
