Thanks MuggleMichelle for all the profuse waves. I appreciate it. I don't mind telling people my age. I didn't look forward to it until I found out I could join the Red Hat Society at 50 so now it's not so bad to say that's my age. ;D But in general, I am the oldest fan on most bulletin boards except for shows like Lost In Space where a large majority of the fans are my age or older.
I know, I bragged on my kids. Couldn't help it. I am proud of them.
Oh yeah, ain't David Hewlett cute :-) ?? Plus he's talented and funny. I've enjoyed seeing him in almost everything so far (PIN was a bit weird but he did a decent job of playing a psycho). If it weren't for Hewlett, I probably wouldn't enjoy it quite so much...though Paul McGillion (sp?)/Dr. Beckett ain't no slouch in the looks department either.

I thought it wasn't supposed to come out til the 18th of this month, right around the time HP #4 is coming out. Yeah, they are definitely my favorites on the show. I just loved the DUET episode. Wasn't that such a hoot? My girls know to glance at the schedule with me on Fridays because they know if SG:Atlantis is on, they aren't going to get control of the remote for at least an hour.

Hello -
I live in Tennessee, work as an IT Analyst, weave in my spare time, old married woman with 2 grown kids.
Oh, and did I mention, I think Alan Rickman is a wonderful actor?
That's enough.

Wow. This really is what I'd imagine an AA meeting to be like. Hi. My name is Therese and I'm a Rickmaniac... My screen name comes from the general reaction I get when people find out about my Rickman obsession. Which is odd, since I'm American and so are they. It does sound better than "Are you INSANE?" though. However, most of my friends are not only understanding; they are downright enabling. Seldom does a week pass by that one of them hasn't sent a weblink to a picture or site or news item featuring Alan. I love my friends. And speaking of weblinks, my mother always taught me that when visiting one should bring a hostess gift. So here is a little site I found incredibly amusing. And they have great pictures of Alan which they call Snapeshots. www.angelfire.com/magic2/snape/That site almost makes me wish I were a teacher. However, I am in Accounting. Yep, happy little bean counter, that's me. Thought I'd climb on board to keep ladynra company as I am a proud 47 years old. I refuse to think of myself as old though. I mean Alan isn't old, so how can I be old at 12 years younger?! Besides, every youth group needs its den mothers. If I had held on for one more week, I could have shared Alan's birthday. Instead, I decided to make my debut on February 14th. It seemed like the thing to do at the time. And it was a clever way to ensure myself of cards and presents on Valentine's Day, regardless of whether or not there is a boyfriend in the picture in any given year. I am literally a DIE HARD Rickman fan as that's where I discovered Alan. Saw it when it first came out (Yes, I am THAT old. We already covered that.) and it was more like fell hard for me. Ain't love grand?! I've followed his career ever since. It's so nice to be among people who don't find that remotely odd. Just want to say thanks to all of you for sharing all the great pictures, news, etc. relating to Alan. This is a very cool place to be. Therese Barking Mad, as always.

I meant to write this earlier, but didn't get a chance! Welcome Therese! You are certainly in the right place for your love and adoration of Alan Rickman. I hope you have had a chance to look around the site. There are some really great threads here! Welcome aboard!

Greetings BarkingMad...Hurray, hurray, hurray...another fan of AR in my age bracket...lol. Yeah, Alan is 9 years older than I am but only 1 year older than my husband so to me 59 is not old at all. The older I get, the more I raise the bar on what age is actually 'old', ya know. Heaven knows I don't feel 50 and even though this is definitely a baby-boomer body, the brain is all Generation Xer for sure.
Anyway, it'll be great to chat about AR with you. And thanks for the Teachers for Snape link. I enjoyed looking at it.

Hi! I'm jenggakun (my CoS name too) from the Philippines. I've been fascinated with Alan ever since he became Snape. Snape is my favorite HP character and Alan Rickman made me love the controversial Potions Master more, haha! I actually didn't know that Alan was the Sheriff of Nottingham in the film Robin Hood (until I met other Rickmaniacs in CoS). I hated his character and his beard and his moustache . My friends who don't like Snape were shocked to hear the news as well since they adored the Sheriff for years. For them sexiness is not next to greasiness. ;D They are still in denial. Hello again and thanks to the senior Rickmaniacs for they made me appreciate Alan Rickman more!

Hey guys! *waves* I came here because giggin gave me a link to this site and we know each other from CoS forums I'm from Poland Alan Rickman is my favourite actor. May I mention Tom Hanks in some movies too? I've discovered Alan in "Sense and Sensibility". I somehow remembered his character and after watching "HP" movies I fell in love in his way of acting. He looks interesting, too ;D Anyway: Alan is a great actor who can play excellently everything: comedies, he's such a great evil and good and grey character... He's got what I call a true talent. I still hunt for movies with Alan I haven't watched yet, and I've also watched "Dogma", "Blow Dry", "Love Actually", "Something That Lord Made", "Rasputin" and "Galaxy Quest".
