I went to Jane Austens house Billywiggy and women in her day weren't as well endowed as Jennifer Ehle they would have had the more slight, slim trim, figure that Keira Knightley has, Jennifer Ehle was a little too big for the role. I saw the dresses she wore and they were tiny! Keira was more appropriate for the day and I always imagined her to look like Keira Knightley. Oh I think you're right about looks - but I was referring to the acting really - the portrayal of the character. Keira was too 'modern' with her little pouts and such.

Last night I had a Jonny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Christopher Lee, and Tim Burton evening. And if you can't guess - oh very well. I watched Corpse Bride with subtitles so I could pick up the lyrics of the songs.
I love the one where the skeletons are singing and dancing.
'You can try to run and hide You can kneel and pray But we'll all end up remains of the day!'
And Charlie and the Chocolate Factory where my favourite line is.
'Everything in this room is eatable, even I'm eatable but that is called cannibalism and is frowned upon in most societies!'
Great! Got to get more Depp!

That line is great! My friends and I saw that movie the day it came out (also known as HBP Day, also known as Super Day of Fun and Obsessions) and we still use that line whenever we can...

I did like the new version,I am a massive Tim Burton fan,but I love the original better,I like Gene Wilder in the role of Willy Wonka, and I do like Johhny Depp too,but I like the originals always....Guess I just am old fashioned that way.... I sat and watched Ladykillers the other day,and although it was funny and Tom Hanks was brilliant in it,I just could not help wanting to watch the original with Alec Guinness and Peter Sellers,it is just a great film and there are so many out there that should never be touched.... Anyways, going to see Ice Age 2 this weekend, love the 1st one,so I am hoping that the 2nd is just as good......

Got to get more Depp! LOL, I loved that line. And I really liked the movie. I have the old version on dvd, with Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka, but I think Johnny was better. ;D I love the old version too, but for some reason I like the new one better.

I don't like remakes either Ringo, I have the original King Kong, the original The Italian Job, and the original Ladykillers, I also have the original Willy Wonka as well, and you know what I prefer the Jonny Depp version it's more true to the story, the Gene Wilder was good but I didn't like the Oompa Loompas in that. It's just me! I do want the modern King Kong but only because Peter Jackson and Andy Serkis.
Of course some remakes are not all bad, every ten years or so they remake all the Austen classics and sometimes they do it just right. I just wish they would remake Dracula and make it better, much better than the Gary Oldman film. Which by the way was absolutely awful! Well I thought so!

The other night I watch a movie called City of Angels...it's one of my favorite movies. It's a movie about love, a love that blossoms between a human and an Angel named Seth. As they spend more time with each other Seth realizes he loves her. Maggie wants to be with him, but since he is an Angel....in the movie they have not feelings, they can feel if someone touches them or kissing them. Maggie decides to tell him that she can't be with someone who can't feel,so she goes away to get married. Seth is so hurt, he makes the decision to become human, he jumps off a building...and wakes up human. He rushes to find her, he thinks he's to late when he arrives, but she tells him, she could not marry the other guy because she loves him.

I'm going through all my videotapes to see if they survived storage and to see if I still want to watch them. One of my favorites, Dear Heart with Glenn Ford and Geraldine Page, didn't make it. Can't get the video (no DVD) because for some reason it's $52 and not good quality anyway.
Another tape is on the verge of disintegration, but I was able to replace it. Chu Chu and the Philly Flash. It stars Carol Burnett and Alan Arkin. Two down-on-their-lucks (he's homeless and she's a street singer) who find each other. Very funny and heartwarming.
I just love old movies.

Last night i watched Corpse Bride, the Tim Burton movie. It was a wonderful movie, a bit sad in a few scenes, but this movie is great for younger viewers. I also watched Dark Harbor, with Alan Rickman, and I must say, it was a really good movie. He undresses in front of the screen, which I have to say, Alan Rickman has a lovely *bum*. But over all the movie was good, not really for really young viewers,I loved the movie, but it was a bit short.

Well......it about David and Alexis, they decide to go away for the weekend, as you watch the movie you notice their marriage is falling apart,.....but anyway, as they are driving to their destination, they come across this young man, who collapses to the ground and they drive by, they stop and help him......later they welcome him into their home......towards the end, I think Alexis starts falling for the young man, something happens at the end of the movie.....sorry don't want to ruin the movie for you by giving to much away. Anyway also at the end of the movie Alan Rickman(David) is on a boat, he undresses, now so you know.....he's completely naked.....you can see everything.*winks*

I'm excited for Tuesday as well. Gotta pick up Narnia (my mom pre-ordered the widescreen edition. But I think I'll buy the special edition as well. Because I'm obsessive like that).
And there are a few other DVDs to buy...
