Been listening to a lot of Chuck Mangione and Bob Curnow Big Band music lately! Oh...of course...been into the musical "Hello Dolly" too, because I've been performing it during the past week~ ;D! All done now finally ! Just like any show, it is tons of fun, but you are always relieved when it is over !

ah big band, good times... hey does anyone here consider themselves a "jazz nut"? Feeling that my musical selection is sorely lacking in jazz. I really like the acid jazz. any suggestions?

Winky22 you like the dolls? *shudder* I hate that song! It's arrogant to the enth degree and I think they're bimbo's. Give me a song with a bit of substance any day. Bring Me Back to Life by Evanescence, four weeks at number one with a great vid and the raw energy of that classics mixed with heavy rock, I wish I could have that song in my head but its those annoying dolls!
I personally would love to hear what Snape would call them!

ah big band, good times... hey does anyone here consider themselves a "jazz nut"? Feeling that my musical selection is sorely lacking in jazz. I really like the acid jazz. any suggestions? I listen to all sorts of jazz...and I am a nut...so if you put those together, hehehe....you get a "jazz nut" ! Hey...I have some suggestions for you Squirrely...here they are: Charlie Hunter Trio or Quartet (he is a guitarist who plays on an eight string guitar. Two of the strings are Bass strings ;D) Medeski, Martin, and Wood Trio (Rhythm Trio - Medeski plays keyboard) Jamaal Deen Tacuma (Bassist) Ornette Coleman - (Sax) Primetime Band

Well I love that song by the Pussycat Dolls, along with just about anything by the Black Eyed Peas. All music is good by me, if it has a good beat I am usually hooked.
Gotta say I am a fan of showtunes as well...right now I am listening to my "Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" CD with Donnie Osmond singing the lead part as Joseph.

Hey giggin, we found ourselves another Keane fan...ringo! (I like the Killers too!)
Squirrely, I love Vince Guaraldi (but that might be because I'm a major Peanuts nut)--he wrote "Cast Your Fate to the Wind", which is a favorite of mine.
I don't listen much to regular radio...I prefer alternative-type stuff, like Evanescence (excellent), Linkin Park, Lifehouse. Or 'vintage' stuff like Clapton, Beatles, CCR, John Mellencamp, Simon & Garfunkel. (Which doesn't explain why I love Clay Aiken so much)

Hey giggin, we found ourselves another Keane fan... ringo! (I like the Killers too!) Ringo I completely agree with you I don't even bother with pappy Top of the Poops anymore, although I have to say Chico is great for a laugh. I hate the Dolls! I think they're overrated, flash in the pan I'm just counting down to the day's when they'll split, which will be in about two years time, tops! I 'll give you a picture of my hunkiest guy in rock. Tuomas Holopainen started a band called Nightwish they're from Finland and they have been going for almost ten years, and he's the writer of both the lyrics and music, and his nightmare is waking up in a world where it's filled with Hip hop and RnB, so a man after my own heart. By the way Simon and Garfunkel bought out a single on the day my parents met, Bridge Over Troubled Waters! A song that I still cry at whenever it's played.

have any of you heard the Dixie Chicks new song? definate rock influence there www.dixiechicks.com/I really like it. I also really like that their lyrics are completely unapologetic I made my bed and I sleep like a baby With no regrets and I don’t mind sayin’ It’s a sad sad story when a mother will teach her Daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger And how in the world can the words that I said Send somebody so over the edge That they’d write me a letter Sayin’ that I better shut up and sing Or my life will be over
I’m not ready to make nice I’m not ready to back down I’m still mad as hell and I don’t have time to go round and round and round It’s too late to make it right I probably wouldn’t if I could ‘Cause I’m mad as hell Can’t bring myself to do what it is you think I should
