I gotta agree with Quiggin here. I don't think we need to discuss Alan's personal life... I would also like to point out that IF Alan were to have been in the hospital, revealing that information is a break in Confidentiality . That alone makes it "off limits"

Ah, I feel ashamed. Yes, she shouldn't have even mentioned it, that is true.
And good point, Quiggin. And sadly, people do just make stuff up in order to get attention. Especially on the net.

I am so sorry!! I totally didn't mean to speculate things regarding Alan's personal life, or spread rumor--I was trying to make others aware there was a rumor 'round and to squash it if possible. I truly didn't mean my post the way it sounded. It's gone now.

Cissy, I don't think you were being reprimanded at any point.
The original poster who violated the oath of her job may have (if it's even true).
The following reprimand was to us, for the speculation. Don't feel bad, I don't think you did anything really wrong just repeating that you had read a rumor.

cissy Hope you're not fretting about all this! I'll hold my hand up and say I love a bit of gossip It must be hard to be in the public eye any time and even worse if he was poorly and rumours start to spread. Who knows if it was true but thanks for letting us know (we'll study all these new pics we find of Alan to make sure he's looking ok now!) Talking of new pics, I'm afraid I don't have a rex account so I can't enlarge any of the pics I'm afraid! Fab huge piccie of Alan with Dan though ;D I notice the adorable pudge lives on whoohoo for teh pudge!

I noticed that too...although I noticed the ONE button fastened, and the tie peeking through the bottom...how silly ;D. I love the picture! Cissy...you weren't speculating...I certainly didn't mean to make you feel bad ! I was just trying to express my thoughts! Please cheer up or I'll cry!!!!!! Unless that will make you feel better...in which case...I'll cry!!!! Love, giggin

Hey, it's ok!! (I don't think it was true anyways--silly people!) Mmm...lovely nice pics. For some reason, I really like his tie. And today was an excellent day! Why? asks everyone. Alan is here! At my house, in "person" (sorta, anyway)! I ordered the Prof. Snape bust (by Gentle Giant) off eBay, and it arrived today. WOW!!!! The detail is incredible. If I can bring myself to remove him from his box I will most definitely take pics & post them--probably Thursday, as I'm off work that day (or I better be! ) For some reason, I suddenly feel like Daffy Duck at the end of that Bugs Bunny cartoon, (after he PO's the genie in the lamp)--curled around that pearl, screaming "IT'S MINE, MINE, MINE!!"

Yes, Alan's look in that photo with Daniel is an interesting mix of formal and casual. Wow, Cissy, how much did that cost? Busts are usually quite expensive.

Hypatia, it was $62 ($50 plus shipping/insurance). It's designed in 1/6 scale, and it's 6.5 in tall. I would've bought it directly from the company, but they are sold out. It was a limited edition of 1500 worldwide, and mainly comic book stores and the like carried them (specialty shops). It is so incredibly detailed. They also make Dumbledore (Gambon-ugh), Sirius (mmmm) and Harry. They do really excellent work. On eBay, Sirius is running around $100, Dumbly is much less, might be less than Snape. My sister just shook her head and muttered something about fools and money... If any would care to look at a stock photo, click here

My sister just shook her head and muttered something about fools and money.. They said the same thing about people who bought Beatles memorabilia way back when. You did good, Cissy! He's cute!

Oh, thanks so much, Cissy! ;D Alan looks so corny as Snape, but that's a very detailed bust, indeed. And that wasn't a bad price at all. And yea, keep that sucker in good shape and maybe it'll be worth some bucks to your grandkids some day.

Alan Rickman vs. Josh Holloway. Are they trying to make this very hard for me?

It was hard not to vote for Josh. He makes Wednesday nights so much prettier.
In the end, I did vote for Alan. He's just all-around better. And I was fearing of a mutiny here if I didn't vote for him. :-)

I would assume spoilers are allowed here if spoiler warnings are posted. Is that the case? I'd love to read some reviews of Snow Cake. I'm just hoping it comes to DVD so I can see it some day. It'll never be widely enough released, I fear, to make it to my theater neck of the woods. And the closest theater to me is about a 40 minute drive away. It just has to make it to DVD, region 1 for me.

^I would think since Snow Cake was shot in Canada, it'll be out on a Region I DVD. Don't know why I think that. It's really no guarantee. It's hard for me to get to a theater, too, so I'm also hoping for the DVD.

Yea, Alan's films can find they have distribution problems. God, considering the horror stories I've heard about getting movies and series produced and actually distributed... I'm sometimes amazed anyone even bothers trying anymore. Yea, no guarantee at all it'll be out, but I do hope so. And I hope the film makes a ton of money. I was very disappointed to hear the news of his play not opening in New York because of.... people being afraid. My country is defined by its fear now. I can't decide if it's sad or outright pathetic.
