Those two are hilarious. LOL. When Rowan kept putting all these various things into the gift bag that weren't necessary was hilarious, making the whole process of buying the gift such a tedious task. LOL. And Hugh dancing was so funny! He's kinda good.

Rowan was perfect in this movie. Yea, all of the actors were great, actually. It was really a fantastically done film. Am I the only one who found the proposal scene to be tear-inspiring? That was the best scene in the movie for me. (Don't tell Alan )

You know - thinking about the Hugh Grant dancing scene reminds me of the scene where he first meets Nathalie - where she can't stop swearing. I love that bit!

Am I the only one who found the proposal scene to be tear-inspiring? That was the best scene in the movie for me. (Don't tell Alan ) I have to agree. He learned Portugese for her and she learned English for him. And the way Colin Firth proposed ... I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about it. I felt so sorry for Alan and Emma in this film. He wouldn't have even thought about cheating on her if it hadn't been for that rotten little fluffette in his office throwing herself at him. I like to think that eventually they will get past this and return to their good marriage.

Oh Des, i have to agree with you, i think it was so sweet the way Colin Firth's character learned Portugese for her and how he decided to propose to her in front of her family and like the whole town! And yes i too felt sorry for Emma's character in the film and how one of Alan's workers kept throwing herself at him, even in front of Emma. Oh i hate that girl! I agree, i hope they can eventually work out their differences and continue with their marriage.

did you catch the comment alan made about this film during his Berindale press interviews? What’s your opinion of British film at the moment? Today there’s Love Actually [which Rickman starred in] and Hugh Grant in Notting Hill and that kind of marriage of what America wants England to be… \I think what worries me is that we lose our own culture… It’s odd because when we went to see it I was thinking, who are all these other people in this movie that Emma Thompson and I were in? ha. I think that is funny. the film really does feel more Hollywood than British.

ha. I think that is funny. the film really does feel more Hollywood than British. I'm not so sure I agree. The movie wasn't about culture, either British or American, but about ordinary people in love and their problems. It could have been set in Italy for that matter. The most Hollywood segment was the one with Hugh Grant being cast as the prime minister (how unlikely is that), but somehow I usually see him as a Hollywood star with a British accent anyway. He was soooo out of place in S&S.

Not a problem! I'm just using my mod-ly powers for good, rather than evil.
And I also love that clip. :-)
