I've not seen this one. I like to save my movie going money for Harry Potter. IMAX is next!
I watched 'Dave' tonight on DVD. It is one that I already owned. I love Sigourney Weaver ;D. I can't wait to see 'Snow Cake', with Sigourney and Alan together in the same movie!
Who is in Flight Plan?

I saw "Rent" last week. The movie was okay ('twas my first "Rent" experience, so I had no idea what to expect. Plus it was a free screening, and the people in charge said we'd *all* get free posters. But they ran out before I got a poster. I think that tainted my whole experience, sadly) (and I think my dislike for Chris Columbus is showing). The music was awesome, and I just can't get the songs out of my head.

I'm gonna go see TLTWATW, but I have no idea when. Unless it's Harry Potter, Johnny Depp, or Alan Rickman I don't like joining the crowds at the movies. So I'll probably go catch a matinee sometime next week...

We watched Trading Places tonight with Eddie Murphy and Dan Akroyd. It's the first of our Christmas movies that we watch every year. We have a huge selection of movies that we watch around Christmas time. Love Actually is one of them and Die Hard is another. If they are based around Christmas time, we call them Christmas movies, and try to only watch them around this time of year. So...expect to hear back from me in this thread during this season a lot!!! Especially to let you know which one we've watched lately ;D !!!

Yeah, I need to drag out the ol' Christmas movies m'self. Although I did watch Muppet Christmas Carol the other day--love Michael Caine (and the frog, too). Let's see...Die Hard (both of 'em), Love Actually...I've watched Charlie Brown Christmas about three times already this year (and will probably watch it several more times--have I mentioned I am a Major Peanuts Fan?). I might watch Patrick Stewart's version of A Christmas Carol this weekend. I should probably give my mom the DVD of White Christmas early--that's her favorite movie.

We watched Trading Places tonight with Eddie Murphy and Dan Akroyd. I *love* that movie. *Love* it. I always makes me laugh. And, as a Muppet geek, I totally geek out in knowing that two actors in the film are Muppeteers of some very well-known Muppet characters. As for Christmas flicks, I mainly stick to the Muppets (there are a few non-Muppet movies that I watch, like Love Actually and Christmas Vacation). Tonight my friends and I watched The Muppet Christmas Carol (and I totally geeked out) AND Love Actually. Great night.

I've watched both Muppets Christmas Carol and A Very Muppet Christmas! Yay! Aaaaaaand...
I just got back from seeing The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and I have two syllables for you: Awe-some! AWESOME
Just magnificent - The Battle was exciting (aside: It's nice to see that finally a woman is given the chance to wield a blade or two, even if she is a loathsome witch) - and the Stone Table scene was incredible. There was more than one wee weeper in the crowded house - I could hear little sobs and snuffles. (And yes, a few tears fell from my eyes - I am neither ashamed or embarrassed to admit it - laugh if you like). One must have a heart of - well - ice or stone to not be moved by that scene. There were moments of fun and laughter and also somewhat darker ones. Peter is the reason I always sort of wanted an older brother. I loved the faun, Tumnus. It was a little odd at first to hear the voice of Prince Charming coming out of the mouth of a Fox, but you get used to it. The creatures were fantastic - the Phoenix was awesome! And I do believe I saw a Harpy. Given a choice to be one of the Creatures - I would so be a Centauress. Father Christmas was lovely and joyous.
There was a rather noticeable scene that was not in the book - but I liked it. It added tension and danger and was well done.
An excellent movie. Loved it.

I haven't watched the Muppets for a long time though. I need to go purchase those Chritmas movies. It is on my list for this weekend now. Muppet Christmas Carol and A Very Muppet Christmas. We have a big selection of Christmas movies, but we can always add more to it. Especially something like the Muppets. I love the Muppets! This is really good to hear actingangie. I really want to go see this movie. Now I am really excited about seeing it. I don't know when I will get a chance (perhaps tomorrow evening), but I hope it will be soon! Thanks for your review!

actingangie, thanks for the review! Now I really can't wait to go see this movie! I've been waiting for a really kickin' adaptation of the books for forever. Ok, not that the ones the BBC did several years ago were, y'know, horrible or anything, but movie budgets vs BBC budgets...

I want to see it again! There aren't all that movies I really think I need to see twice - but this is definitely one of them! And years and years ago when our Public TV channel showed the BBC Narnia movies, my grandpa recorded them for me. I loved the books - I thought the BBC version was okay - not something I'd watch frequently, but I'm thinking I may have to dig them out and watch them.
Oooh! As to the Muppets - I watched both the Muppet Christmas Carol and A Very Muppet Christmas the other day! The muppets never fail to make me smile. ;D But my very very favorite version of A Christmas Carol is the one with Patrick Stewart. That particular version is easily my favorite - better than Alastor Sim (?) or George C. Scott. I also like Mickey's Christmas Carol. Years ago (again) they showed Mickey's Christmas Carol and some Xmasy shorts with it that I enjoyed.

You know what Christmas movie I really like - Scrooged. Bill Murry is just so darn funny! ;D Scrooged is part of our Christmas movies selections as well . We will watch it before Christmas sometime definitely. I love that movie so much. My husband actually likes Bill Murray more than I do. Ground Hog day is one of his favorites! Also, I just picked up The Muppet Christmas Carol ! I can't wait to see it! Thanks for the suggestion! My favorite Chrstmas Carol is the George C. Scott version...sorry Patrick Stewart lovers...but I just happen to love this version too much. Tiny Tim is perfect, Bob Cratchet is my Fav. and Eb. Scrooge (Scott) is my Fav....so there you go ;D ! I won't watch this one until very close to Christmas time though. We usually end up watching it around the 23rd.
